Nobody is beating Ottke in Germany absolutely NOBODY. He could have made a Roy Jones like jump to HW to fight Wlad and he still would have gotten 117-111, 115-113 and 114-114. The judges were literally in fear for their lives at his fights and had the cards prefilled..
And also because he was a very very good amateur record with over 300 fights and then exceptional as a pro, until the final stages of his career when he was well past it and frequently injured while training and fighting.
Ottke’s prime may have been very good but I can’t ignore in those final stages of his career how many shady thing happen during his fights and when the cards were read. He’s also the reason I rate Andre Ward above Joe Calzaghe due to Calzaghe and Ottke circling around each other while both breaking title defense records and both retiring undefeated.
