In current HW ranking where does Joyce sit, I probably put him at #3 1) AJ 2) Fury 3) Joyce 4) Usyk 5) Whyte Not the most entertaining fighter, but hes got a mean Jab on him, and I cant see anyone outside of Fury or AJ beating him. Thoughts
Usyk is above Joyce imo, while the fight would need a totally different point, rankings wise he's #4 behind Usyk
Joyce is 5ish IMO Champ: Fury (obviously) 1. Joshua (unified champ, 1 avenged loss) 2. Usyk (undisputed CW champ, no loss) 3. Hunter (top level, 1 loss to top 3 HW) 4. Wilder (destroyed twice by champ, not active) 5. Joyce (steady progress, undefeated) 6. Whyte (good record, knocked unconscious recently) 7. Parker (looked bad lately) 8. Ruiz (looked bad against a semi retired top 20 guy) 9. Ortiz (slumped twice, not active, retired?)
Probably top 10. It's a weak, stagnant division though. The next 18 months will give us more clarity. Fury will possibly retire by then (not exactly the self proclaimed 'fighting man' when active is he !?) Wilder will surely retire if Fury beats him again. It could open up for Joyce if he gets a few fights under his belt.
What do you mean stagnant.. 6 guys from the top 10 have scheduled fights within the next few months.. In what other division is this happening?
based on style that would beat Joyce imho Fury Usyk Hunter Wilder AJ + Hrgovic and Yoka has a big chance against him.
His resume is not top 5, not close really, and only top 10 because the division dropped dead last year and he mixed it up a little bit.
Based on resume and recent performances. 1 - Fury - Undefeated has the best win of anyone vs Wlad and dismantled Wilder and stopped prime Chisora. 2 - Joshua - Deepest resume but the loss to Ruiz hurts him. 3 - Usyk - Undefeated and unified Cruiser champion, win over Chisora was more convincing than Whyte's or Parker's. 4 - Wilder - Only one good win over Ortiz, then the 2 fights with Fury which should count as 2 losses really. 5 - Whyte - Solid wins over Chisora, Rivas, Parker, split 2 fights with Povetkin, his resume still sees him just in the top 5 for me. 6 - Ruiz Jr - The win over Joshua does a lot for his ranking, but the loss to Joshua and then the fight with Arreola sees his ranking drop, I suspect over time the Joshua win will prove to be a fluke and he'll end up outside the top 10. 7 - Hunter - Solid wins over undefeated Bakole and Kuzmin and then the draw with Povetkin which I personally thought he won sees him deserving of a top 10 spot but his recent choice of opposition will hurt him if it continues. 8 - Joyce - Solid wins over Dubois and Jennings as well as Takam have Joyce 8th for me. He's the flavour of the week right now with his recent performances but he's not done enough to rank any higher just yet.
Fury is seen as the top dog & has fought 7 times in nearly 7 years. A prime example if ever l saw one
Higher than I ranked him some time ago. Even if I dont like his boxing, this guy has something that makes him win.
