In what way is Spinks better than Usyk? Had two close fights with old shot Holmes an beat Qawi, that's it.
Spinks was slipping Holmes jab like childsplay in the first fight and unloaded his punches from multiple angles. Usyk has better footwork and quicker feet but Spink's was more agile with his upperbody. He had an incredibly awkward style that made him hard to outbox and his win over past it Holmes is better than beating an old Chisora in an 8-4 or 9-3 type fight. Also Holmes was not shot because he schooled Ray Mercer years after. What has Usyk done noteworthy at heavyweight ? Lets be real Mike Tyson would murder Usyk too. Spinks is underrated these days
I'm not so sure. I think his gameplan will be to keep Usyk at bay and land hard when he can. So that being said whilst Usyk will be hurt in this fight and may touch down I'm not sure AJ stops him - he will win convincingly however.
Mike Tyson couldn't murder much lesser opponents than Usyk, and comparing Spinks to Usyk is a good joke.
Yes because Usyk is a great heavyweight champion. Struggling with a past it Chisora for 4 rounds is not impressive. Whatsoever. He beats Joshua and I'll say he's far better than spinks. Hands down. I'll come back to this post and admit you were right if that happens but until then the better resume at heavyweight category favors Spinks. Also Usyk struggled when Breidis pressed forward multiple times in the fight. Man shelled up on the ropes waiting for the storm to pass. Mike Tyson will be on him nonstop for 12 rounds, with handspeed and midrange combinations unlike anything he's ever seen. That would be the worst style match up for Usyk besides Joe Frazier.
If AJ ain't stopping the c-grade Usyk aka Parker then I don't see him winning a stoppage here. I'm still waiting for the weigh in before placing my bet but I'm almost certainly pushing my chips towards AJ UD.
Only people who don't know what they're looking at parrot that drivel "struggled to beat Chisora". Being made to work hard, and doing so, is not struggling. He barely lost a round in the bout ffs. Usyk's great, and he's right in the mix. Even if he loses to Joshua, he could still beat the likes of Fury, Joyce or Wilder. Joshua lost to Andy Rice Pudding Jr. People like to say "styles make fights" but they don't want to be consistent - only using it when it suits. The number one heavyweight of this era will lose a bout or two, so losing to Joshua does not eradicate Usyk's chances of being the best. People like yourself are pretending Joshua never got beat to **** by a small fat guy. Joshua will get the utmost credit if he beats Usyk, which he has good chances to do. Usyk will also get the utmost credit if he beats Joshua, which he has a great chance of doing.
Usyk struggled with Chisoras pressure and physical strength in the early rounds that was clear as day. Thats why most people had Chisora winning at least 3 of them. I had it Usyk 8-4 or arguably 9-3 and he handled Chisora comfortably after round 4 although the 9th was close and Chisora also gassed so theres that's also why Usyk took over. It was a clear Usyk win and he handled Chisora easier than Parker and Whyte did, but he did struggle early on. It is what it is Nobody's saying he can't beat Joshua. He can and he has the tools to do it. Joshua got a gift decision against Savon in the Olympics and Savon is the closest thing to Usyk that he has ever faced. I have Joshua winning a competitive UD.
Okey, we will know: Usyk is C grade, so if A.J will stop Usyk he will be B grade boxer. If A.J will get stopped, he then will be confirmed as D grade boxer because you had ranked Usyk as C grade boxer. With this, if A.J will win Usyk on cards, A.J then should be C+ grade boxer. According to your own logic.
Usyk and Parker aren't really the same. Parker has almost non-existent defence, where as Usyk has great head movement. But Parker also has a fantastic chin and good deal of power, but not on the same level of skill Usyk has. Joshua evaded Parker to try something new out, and also because Parker has never been KO'd. I think Parker will go the rest of his career never losing via KO. He may be able to be knocked down, but he doesn't look phased when he does get knocked down. He just gets back up.
Chisora was winning the early rounds through agression/activity alone. He barely landed anything clean
Chisora outworked him early, doesn't matter how you spin it. And Chisora is a gatekeeper, like Bert Cooper. Usyk showed that he was the superior fighter in the Chisora fight but Michael Spinks having a past it Cooney and a past it Holmes is better than a past it Chisora. But hey if he beats Joshua I'll come back and admit i was wrong. If you watch the fight, Spinks showed incredible head movement and gave Holmes several angles when unloading. He was relentless in the mid rounds and awkward. Just because he lost to Mike Tyson doesn't mean he wasn't a good fighter. Please, watch the first Holmes/Spinks fight. Spinks preformed excellently. And the win aged well because Holmes schooled Ray Mercer, and Ray Mercer is levels above Chisora
