Where do people get the idea that someone has to be 2-1 in fights against an opponent?

I've seen numerous times people saying something like "he's 1-1 against x, he's still got a score to settle".

Why? So whenever a champ loses against anyone they have to rematch them TWICE in order to establish themselves as the superior fighter? Regardless of how their resumes match? So AJ is condemned to be considered Ruiz quality because he's only 1-1 against him? Regardless of who he beats next? AJ could KO Usyk and Fury... "ah but he's still 1-1 vs Ruiz". smh.

Seriously who the **** wants to see the same fight happen 3 times?

At the end of the day TL;DR - If a fighter avenges their loss, that should be good enough. If it's good enough for the likes of Lewis, then it's good enough for anyone else.

Sounds like you're trying to excuse your cowardly ways by projecting off of superior men

Depends on the fighters tbh, I've never regretted watching fight like Barrera-Morales, Pacman-Morales and fights like these more than once.

On the other hand if the champion takes a loss from someone on a lower level ,1-1 is pretty conclusive, no one wants to watch a Lewis-Rahman 3 now ,do they?

However AJ-Ruiz 3 stilll holds a bit of interest as the fatty is trying to reform his ways and casuals fall hook, line and sinker for a redemption arc.

    Yes. Always will be.
Btw KO loss and UD win in Eddie show vs away corner short notice replacement in Ruiz Jr with A.J had been mopped floor.
Do you know what kind of underdog had mopped floor vs A.J?

before first fight tapology survey was with preditions like 94% A.J to win this one.
He had been finished by 1:15,67 underdog. :D

    Yes. Regardless.

    Yes. Always and forever.
Patterson had been KOed by Johanson and he avenged with 2 rematches where he finished Johanson in distance.
    This is big difference.
A.J should fight vs Ruiz Jr again to clear his legacy. Ruiz had mopped floor with him and he yeah, quit there.
Maybe cos he knew that ppl like you will demand things from Klits Lewis never had did: to fight when he was 39 y.o and older.
Ofc Lewis origin matters more ;):nononopassport.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're trolling, because it's terrible logic.

LOL as though anybody actually expects Byrd to beat Vits twice by injury. Because that's the only way he would.

Boxing fans doesn't have logic if they talk about their favorite fighter and accuse opponents that they does not have logic.

    You do not have logic.
Everyone who does have elementary logic might see this.

You think loss via TKO might be avenged with UD win cos rematch had happened?
You think you might compare Lewis with Wlad and Vitali despite he did not had fought when he had turned 39?
    Of course.

    Terrible logic is your logic.
A.J needs to fight vs Ruiz Jr again.
    Patterson did this vs Johannson.

Agreed. Well said. You can't make a rule. You gotta judge this **** on a case by case basis each on it's own merits.

This is not the moral equivalent of LL failing to rematch VK. Lame.
