What is the most brutal/hardest punch you've ever seen in classical boxing ?

Michael Nunn KO 1 Sumbu Kalambay. Anytime I think of that fight the resounding THUD of Nunn's left hook instantly reverberates in my head. A Tysonesque punch sound byte. An ATG single punch KO. I don't believe Kalambay was ever knocked out otherwise. Don't know about KDs.

 

Leonard's ko of Dave "Boy"Green was as devastating as a ko can get.

 

Lennox KO Rahman. Seeing that happen live was surreal.

It was a 3-punch combination, but Gatti vs Gamache was as brutal as it gets.

I rank Hearns ko a little lower since he softened up Duran with about 20 right hands before the ko shot. Robinson's hook on Fulmer was absolute perfect timing and textbook execution of a snapping left hook. The other ko's here are sheer one shot power.

The hardest punch imo would have to be a heavyweight. My vote is the Shavers bomb on Holmes. Shavers is usually cited as the hardest puncher of all time, and that punch Shavers delivered with seemingly all of his weight behind it.

All the above of course, thing is most were punchers, my pick would from a non puncher ( so to speak ) which makes it all the more unusual and different so step forward Benitez/Hope a more perfect right hand you will be hard to find, if you younger posters haven't then have a look.

This is probably the knockout I have watched more than any other in my life. Such an incredibly timed and delivered uppercut. Perfection! Made even better by the fact it was against an ATG in Charles.

 

And yet Holmes got up, proving that Shavers was not that big of a puncher after all.

 

You mean the ones where your first thought is "f**k, I am glad that didn't hit me!"
