So your argument against my points is 'uh ... I think you're biased'? The point is, people are acting like Joshua's advantages are the big deal, when they're actually pretty minor and standard in heavyweight matchups that go either way. You're irrationally hyperfocused on things that don't matter that much. What was the point of this thread if not to argue that 3 inches is actually really big?
I laid it out pretty clearly. A 20lb weight advantage, 4inch height and reach advantage in my opinion is a significant advantage. You disagree. That’s fine. Usyk will have to move into range just to score shots, I see that as a disadvantage for him as he will be under fire there from a naturally much bigger guy where he won’t of been at cruiser in the main. He has advantages such as speed and ring IQ among others but you can’t just ignore or diminish Joshua’s advantages because you don’t like them. They exist and you’d be kidding yourself to think they don’t.
They exist ... but you made an entire thread about it, so I assume you want to see them debated. Stop with this 'kidding yourself' nonesense, it's just boring to hear people parrot the same things over and over without even thinking about it. Fact is, Joshua has faced plenty opponents the same height or shorter than Usyk, less reach, similar weight, and they didn't bang on about it half as much as they have done here.
those are different levels, hes dealing with the apex predator now. its not the same thing. just like plant thinking his cuteness is gonna get him through canelo, cause he can style on cans. both are about to find out their true level vs the boss.
To dismiss all the advantages that AJ enjoys is silly. AJ is almost a 3-1 favorite in this fight. And it's not because of his skills, it's because of all the physical advantages. Uysk - Gained weight, likely lost some speed. - Giving away every physical advantage possible, possibly including speed with the weight gain. - Less punching power. AJ - Lost some weight, likely gained some speed. - Has every possible physical advantage. - One-punch KO power. Usky only has better skills and better ring IQ, but is that enough? We'll see.
There’s some solid points here. Hypothetically, if the size difference is no longer significant, has this now diminished Usyk’s previous speed advantage? I guess that won’t come to light until fight night but it has to be a consideration if the size difference is no longer seen as a big deal, do we make that same assumption on Usyk’s speed advantages? For the record, I wouldn’t.
Indeed... Against Chisora, Usyk had the 4" reach advantage and still got hit - suddenly with a 4" reach deficit he's not only going to avoid getting hit but he's going to put through the kind of volume to stop Joshua, who is quicker and hits harder? I just don't see it... But I guess it's not long til we get to see whether I'm right, or what it looks like if I'm not.
Almost... I think your perception is warped by your bias, and your points are formed under an unfortunate misjudgement as a result. Sometimes honesty is a virtue.
And same question for his stamina advantage? Likely "yes" to both, but by how much and will it be a factor? That's the real question.
Yeah good point. It all is a bit unknown currently in those regards. Should be interesting to find out.
