That's hilarious. I have no idea why emotions run so high sometimes. It's just a discussion board at the end of the day.
I don't think LaStarza is terrible at all. Technically he's pretty good and has a rather attractive looking style. He's not on Usyk's level, but then not many boxers are. Roland was giving Marciano a boxing lesson in the first third of their fight. Now I know Marciano isn't exactly the byword for sugar skills, but he generally manages to do something to his opponents and he just couldn't get going against LaStarza.
I think @janitor will agree with me that the most prudent course of action would be to wait until we finally see how Usyk fares against a ranked heavyweight in his fight against Anthony Joshua before rushing to conclusions about how he would do against ranked heavyweight Roland LaStarza!
I think that for somebody like LaStarza, we could justify favoring him based on his cruiserweight career.
A heavyweight against a cruiserweight?! This is a massacre. LaStarza ragdolls his smaller opponent. It's one thing fighting cruisers one weight class down, but Usyk is in the big leagues now. He's never tasted true heavyweight power like LaStarza can dish out.
No, I wouldn't. Some cruiserweight eras have boasted very strong divisions, but there are others where it has been a wasteland division, where the champions were not the best or brightest men who could make the weight. I wouldn't pick Uriah Grant over LaStarza for example.
I think Layne was shop soiled when Lastarza beat him. After the Marciano fight he didnt train with the same desire and his results reflected it.
