True. Getting gift decisions will just see him portrayed as a protected fighter with privileges that other fighters don't have and that will totally alienate the normal Hatton fan base. A loss might have been less damaging for his following than this robbery.

Totally agree mate. Right now British boxing is the most blatantly corrupt bar none.

 

It's not like any of this is new or exclusive to the UK. Many of the bigger stars make demands of their opponents that tip the odds in their favour. The problem is one for the sport to sort out. Having a standard ring size for one. If there was a will, that would be an easy thing to legislate.

 

The strange thing is that McDonell a couple of years ago was a top referee. Not sure what's changed for him but he's really dropped off this year.

 

I can't think of a worse trainer for him. I guess ear muff defence is better then NO defence. He's probably the right trainer for how Campbell wants to fight but he's the wrong trainer for Campbell...if that makes sense.

Not only that, but how times he's been knocked out by bigger guys considering how small his head is. I met Roy Jones at a fight once. Some guys have a big skeleton and big skulls and you can see how they can start out thin and put on and carry a lot of weight.

Jones has a very tiny head and a lighter-weight boxer's frame.

Glad he didn't suffer any long term damage.
