With two beatdown losses on his record, does AJ still "easily" have the best HW resume?

His resume hasn't changed.
He just lost to 2 guys on his resume, one completely unexpected, one was a lot more expected.

It just says a lot about the other big names in the division.
Fury only has old Wladimir and Wilder, then Chisora twice.
Wilder has... ancient Ortiz twice and dare I say it... Stiverne or Breazeale.
Ruiz has nobody but 1-1 vs Joshua.
Parker has Ruiz, Chisora and a should have in against Whyte.
Whyte has Parker, Povetkin and Chisora.

After this win Usyk's resume surpassed most on this list already himself.

Chisora x2 are Fury's 5th and 6th wins (if we exclude the Wilder "draw", if not Chisora is 6th and 7th). Wallin and ATG cruiser Cunningham are Fury's 3rd and 4th best wins. Wallin will prove it beyond dispute next month.

If losses don't matter then Chisora has a great resume, which some idiots actually try to argue, although I must concede that Chisora did far better than AJ did against Usyk.

 

His resume is decent but people will remember Wlad, Povetkin, Pulev were past their prime. He hasn't fought Fury and Wilder yet

Yes, decent resume. Wlad could end his career back in 2017 but he didn't want that. He showed mercy to bodybuilder. Ruiz and Usyk didn't show any mercy and battered him. Fury is the best HW currently both in terms of ability and resume.

 

The thinking that Joshua has the best resume is over.

He is 24-2. He has never fought the best fighter in the division, yet his record against the current Ring top 10 is 3-2.

He lost to Ruiz when he was unrated. He lost to Usyk when he was rated #10. He defeated Whyte when he was unrated six years ago. The only current fighters he managed to beat when they were ranked were decisions over Parker and Ruiz. Again, none of these guys were ever the best.

Joshua is just another contender now. I don't even know if he'd beat Whyte in a rematch at this point.

If Wilder beats Fury in two weeks, he'll have a 3-1-1 record against fighters currently rated in the Ring top 10 and he'll be the World Champion.

 

Joshuas resume is hyped. Fury has the best resume imo.

 

I would say the loss doesn't change much. But you could argue that Usyk has the best overall resume in the division now.
But Joshua still likely has the best "Heavyweight" resume.

Fury is still the best current heavyweight, but it's difficult to declare him the man until we can undisputed.

Joshua is 6-2*-0 (7 fights/8* fights)
Fury is 3-0-1 (4 fights)
Wilder is 3-1-1 (5 fights)
Whyte is 2-1-0 (3 fights)
Usyk is 1-0-0, at Cruiser he was 4-0-0 (5 fights)
*Ruiz wasn't technically top 10

 

No not anymore. He did before today but losses count and Usyk schooled him.

I won't go overboard though. Wilder is not on the list because Wilder's only 2 good wins are Luis Ortiz and Bumane Stiverne. Joshua certainly does not have the best resume but he's far above Wilder. Anyone wanna prove me wrong ?
