Should have beaten 76 Ali, who, whatever his flaws, was undisputed champ. At least according to a pretty decent number of boxing historians these days. And getting blasted out by Foreman at least means that he got to the position where he was good enough to fight for all the marbles. A position he reached twice.

Holmes I grant you was a belt holder fight. But he took Holmes right to the brink, and Holmes was better than anybody on Joshua's record, IMO.

That the 70s were overrated, I also grant you. But in terms of accomplishments, I don't think Norton was too far off from current Joshua.

True, just a jab at the entirety of the whole " bigger is better, modern training trumps all, blah blah blah" crowd.

Didn't even watch it. No interest in modern boxing, no idea who any of these people are. I'm just crotchety and old enough to feel indignant about most things.

Usyk has always, and will always be a better boxer and athlete than AJ. Him beating AJ doesn't somehow make Golden Era HW's better. Usyk is the evolution of the sport (ALL sports evolve, deal with it). There was something a lot closer to AJ in the Golden Era than there was Usyk, making your theory absurd. If anything, this proves the opposite.

No, they don't all evolve. Nothing has to evolve simply because it exists, don't be absurd. Some things degrade and fall away too.

Boxing is a global sport now with 10x the pool of talent, 1 million x the footage, and decades upon decades of experience and development from where it was in the 70's. If you can't see the brilliance and extremely high level stuff Usyk is doing in the ring then I can't help you.

It's fine if people want to believe that all the best HW's ever happened to be born in one area of one country in one decade, but that's not reality.

    Ali KO1 Usyk, happy?

I do see the stuff Usyk does. He'd easily be a hard night for Ali but I just want you to break down how he's technically better than Ali. Because thats something i don't see

Has boxing degraded and fallen away? I think top boxers from 2020 are more skilled than top boxers from 1970. The fact that no one will convince a certain group of people of this is why we made a forum just for you guys.

All you need to know is their weights and bench press totals. Watching the actual fight is for old timers and nostalgists.
