Maybe actually acknowledge how special Usyk was. There are very few men in boxing history that would have beaten Usyk tonight, if any.

 

That's not what he said at all. He said the elite heavyweights of the past would not just be outsized and bullied by AJ like so many on here claimed.

It's hardly criticizing Usyk to put him up with the likes of Ali and Tyson ffs.

Hearn must be aching because he was putting Price against who Joshua was due to face. He short camped Price to screw him over and now Joshua is screwed. Shame he didn't have the hindsight to make the Usyk Price fight to scout Usyk against a taller fighter and instead relied on Chisora's lenient refereeing to see how he handled wrestling. Big mistake.

 

That was the right decision usyk looked totally on his game tonight and was unlucky not to get a knock down in the 12th. Answered a few questions about his chin at heavy as well eat a few big licks but movement and energy top shelf for 90% of the fight impressive

Better footwork ? Arguable. Usyk usually pressures with his footwork added on to his pawing jab. Ali is better on the backfoot and just as good as Usyk at moving in and out of range, especially when he briefly goes southpaw to angle out of range. Usyk is better at gettinf an angle on his opponents though

Faster ? No

More complex punch selection ? He is more sound with his combination punching but Ali could actually fight on the inside better as seen against Joe Frazier. Just because Ali was more unorthodox with his offense doesn't mean it was worse. Ali was a master at the pull counter when making his opponents lead. Usyk counters more though. Ali also had better head movement and made opponents miss by a hair by rolling with shots better than Usyk. And that isn't taking into account when Ali incorporates upperbody movement.

Who could use feints better is arguable

Bro ali was a master at the pull counter when fighting 5‘11 midgets that would be smw by todays standart. It is not about what you are doing in the ring, its about what your are doing in the ring against someone. You can fight fighter A and look like RJJ and then you fight fighter B and you look like a newbie.

 

Usyk was a mandatory. Back was kind of to the wall. And Hearn wins regardless.

 

He pull countered against 6'4 Bugner and Bugner also had a longer reach. Do you realize Ali also fought people his size and larger ?

 

A thin Ruiz would be bigger than somebody like Quarry or Bonavena, no doubt. But so were many 70s heavyweights.
