Interesting point, Bellew brought this up, he says Usyk hates body shots... in many of Usyk's fights when he gets hit to the body he complains and tells the ref that it's low. Anyone notice this? He did this tonight against AJ, against Chisora, against Witherspoon, Gassiev... Beterbiev put him down with a bodyshot in the amateurs I believe. Is this Usyk's achilles heel? It seemed that AJ was having success going to the body.
This is the reason why Frazier would destroy Usyk. Yes it's a weakspot for Usyk. However Joshua can't keep up that Frazier pace with relentless bodyshots. He can't beat Usyk
He got hit with some heavy body shots tonight and handled them fine. But yeah if there is a chink in Usyk's armor, it's the body shots. He got dropped in ams once or twice with body shots.
Usyk's weak spot is his sportsmanship and willingness to abide by the rules. There has never been a more honourable heavyweight champion in the world. In my opinion he is the most important heavyweight champion since Ali and possibly could exceed that.
Keyboard warrior geniuses in here have found Usyks weak spot. Nice. Why didn't you tell the 17men he has defeated in the pros and the 300+ guys he defeated in the ams? I guess the cat is out of the bag now. I feel sorry for Oleksandr.
Yes. I have noticed this in other fights when I have been re-watching a bunch of Usyk to try an analyze this fight. Usyk always visibly reacts when he gets hit in the body. There was one fight where he went down (It wasn't ruled a knock down but he got a punch to the gut and went down) Don't blame him though. Body shots suck. I'd rather get punched in the face than eat a good body shot any day.
Perhaps Usyk's defence and ring generalship is so good that his frustrated opponents instinctively end up hitting below the belt out of desperation.
At least he will try to unify unlike other pathetic "boxers" currently in the positions to call the shots who avoid any risks.
