Thought he had almost a 50% chance against fury and really thought he’d do better against Uysk. Well I was wrong and I’ll eat my crow. Knew after the 1st 3 rounds Uysk would win as even tho Joshua was showing solid defence he was just not throwing anything and was letting Uysk have his way and I really thought Joshua would have thought you know what I need an inside game but nopooo he decides to try out boxing Uysk and letting the smaller guy dictate the fight. well done to Uysk and would love to see Uysk and fury go at it.
AJ has done amazingly well but he falls just short of elite status, he is somewhat of an overachiever but good luck to him.
Falls short of elite status? Best resume in the division and actually fights the best. Wilder is an overachiever, Fury an underachiever
A bunch of old men and chinny bums doesn't make for such a great resume in my book. AJ has not fought the best til he fights Wilder or Fury, and he loses both.
The Ruiz fight is still in his head. I saw no urgency he didnt even throw a knockout punch. I guess to avoid getting knocked out. he will have to take risks that may not pay off but better to roll the dice then get in a sense out classed
AJ is suffering an identity crisis. Not a good time to be doing so either! It's probably game over for him. I feel for him as he is a victim of the UK hype machine.
It would of been if it hadn't been a debacle to find an opponent for Hrgovic to fight an eliminator with, the IBF number one ranking and therefore mandatory is still technically vacant as I don't think Radonjic was ranked by the IBF so wasn't an eliminator. Until someone finds the balls to fight Hrgovic there will be no IBF mandatory anytime soon.
You're right but I don't think he will ever be able to take those risks anymore, he is damaged goods. He will now forever be KOphobic.
Call me crazy, but I still favor Joshua in a possible (if it ever happens now) Fury fight. I think Fury, like Joshua and Wilder before, is massively overrated himself. He has a thin resume, and does very well against certain styles and fighters, but then looks like shirt against others that shouldn't be near him because of the size disparity. Plus, his biggest win is still a stinker with an asterisk, and we still have to see him defend a belt once. It's clear to me that the whole big 3 (now probably big 4) of today have been massively overrated by fans, and I can't see a long uninterupted rule for any of them, if they don't get mached in a soft manner. Joshua's aura is now completely gone... Wlad started it, Ruiz demolished it, and Usyk buried it. Fury's stock has gone up and down like a jojo.... with McD 1 way down, McD 2 up again, Chisora 1 up further, Pajkic way down, Johnson up again, down again with USS, up again after Chisora 2, way up after Wlad, completely down again after Nandolone and retirement, up again 3 years later for Wilder 1, down again after Wallin, and then up trough he roof after Wilder 2. Will the jojo go down again after Wilder 3?
