Joshuas face would look even worse, but with darker skin bruises can be hard to see.

    Valid point.

I'm still fizzing from this result. I think this is exactly the shake up that the heavyweight scene needed.

Long time lurker but felt compelled to join in after this one.

What a fantastic performance from Usyk really top drawer.

But Joshua? Well he’s shown his limitations and I see no way back for him. Especially if he doesn’t change his trainer. Was it “Stay smart behind the jab”? When it was clear that tactic wasn’t effective as landing the punch was a problem due to Usyk’s unbelievable movement and engine. May as well have said “keep on losing”:::::

AJ is never winning against Usyk on points. Ever. So that leaves knocking him out. That however comes with jeopardy as Usyk is quicker and counters well. It also requires something that I think has diminished in AJ. That being the ability to take that risk. Unfortunately, that distance fighting hoping for an opening without taking shots is out of the Audley Harrison school of losing fights and looking terrible....

Tbh AJ has ridiculous amounts of money, I reckon calling it quits and enjoying that is not a terrible plan.

Yes it was, watch it again. Usyk was short with most of his punches in the 1st 2 minutes or so of the round, he then landed a few, but AJ landed a few too. Like I said, you could give to Usyk, I did when I watched it live. Low output round with both landing on gloves, short, etc.

Yeah, had a bet on Uzyk to win TKO/KO rounds 7-12 at 12-1 so that lost me a few quid due to the early stop. Ref should have waved it off at the least, even if it was close to the end of the fight.

Joshua was shown up for what he is, a good, but not great boxer. He needs to rewatch Rocky 3 instead of using the music, cut out the fireworks and the sponsorship deals and get that hunger back.

As for Campbell Meatball Hatton, what can you say? As dodgy decisions go it's up there with the worst. Even the lad himself was speechless that he was given it, you could see the embarrassment.

Your pre-fight prediction didn’t age well!

Not knocking you personally by the way, just interesting how so many of us that follow the sport closely got it so wrong - total credit to Usyk for that performance.

Some bird on Sky Sports asked Bellew if this was as big a win as Haye beating Valuev. That is the most ******ed question I've ever heard in sport.

I pay for Dazn and have watched it not even close wide round for Usyk.
if you're giving Joshua a round like that you'd be able to find excuses to have him win and that gets into conspiracy theorist territory.

If Usyk did that much damage to AJ. Fury would literally hospitalised AJ

    Had it 7-5 to Usyk.
    Could’ve easily accepted 8-4 or 9-3.

    Anything else and YDKSAB

Does this mean the WBO will call the mandatory? So Joyce fights for the vacant belt

I'm in the US, it still doesn't work for me, hell it's not even a option now.

Well I was far to drunk to score it last night but thought I had it 8-4 Usyk, think I gave AJ 2/5/6/8. Might rewatch it later, don’t feel AJ landed enough big shots to deter Usyk at all, combined with his movement and speed was basically curtains for him.

Said to my friends it would be decided in the first rounds and after I saw how he was moving, knew he was in for a long night, got saved by the bell from being dropped late as well.

You were saying the boxing public should enjoy Fury and Joshua like the footballing world appreciates Ronaldo and Messi.

Joshua looked more like Emile Heskey out there last night - as stiff as anything and outclassed by a true top class boxer. There's nothing wrong with being a Heskey, but my goodness is Joshua overrated.

It's all coming undone for the money man. Feed him some more "top 10's" to bolster his "top" record and then have another go in a couple of years, I reckon.

In stadium I thought it was a draw or usyk by one, but I was steamed and crowd went mental on the rare occasions AJ landed which made me biased. Watched it again when I got home and Usyk walked it.
