Seeing comments saying Norton would lose to AJ because of Nortons chin. In my opinion Nortons chin, while average, isn't so bad that he'd lose to anybody with power. 3/4 of his KO loses were some of the hardest hitters of all time, Foreman, Shavers, and Cooney (Cooney was no where near the caliber of Foreman and Shavers but keep in mind Norton was pushing 40).
I think out of all the elite heavies today, Norton would have had the least trouble with Fury. Fury's slightly below average power and general style would be good for Ken imo. Norton would be his usual relentless self, not be impressed at all with Fury's punching, stalk and stagger him several times, take a close but UD. Fury's size and decent moves would keep him from getting stopped, but Norton's overhand right and ATG body punching would make it so the fight would never be in serious question, really. AJ would be his second least problem. He has very good power, but doesn't rank with Foreman Shavers or Cooney. Let's get real here. I think Ken would get rocked hard several times, but sooner or later AJ would get hurt by that right hand and Norton would keep it up until the former quit or got stopped in 10 at the most. Wilder would be Norton's biggest problem, though I'm not sure at all he's quite on the level of the other two as a fighter overall. Wilder's one-shot power....if he lands flush at any time in the fight Norton might close up and start falling. However, if he's able to smother Wilder... Norton was just a plain better fighter than Wilder, so it's kind of up in the air for me. I don't think he'd win if he got caught with a flush right. I can't call it.
His trainer Eddie Futch said he froze up against punchers. The other problem was, if you had the power to back him up he was ineffectual because he could only fight going forward with that " back foot in a bucket," stance.
Joshua would knock Norton the **** out. Both are chinny but one is much larger, stronger, a bit quicker, hits significantly harder and has the longer reach. And in addition to that if Joshua has him hurt it's over. Norton is done. Norton however would do WAY better against Usyk than Joshua did, because boxing is funny like that
Styles. Norton will seem weak chinned against Sluggers with a really good punch. Against the Ali and Young boxer types, his chin will suddenly seem strong.
I don’t think it was so much a matter of Norton’s chin being “ weak “ but rather fighters who forced him to fight off the back foot. Also, the Cooney AND shavers fights came when he was past it. And it wasn’t like he lost with a single punch. All the big hitters who stopped him really clobbered the hell out of him with multiple shots.
If you're a Norton fan so be it but Kenny was always glass jaw city. Also Cooney was definitely better overall than Shavers and was head to head with Foreman in the power department. Had Norton been 25, Cooney still wipes the floor with him, he had no chin.
