Dare I say that Joyce would have the upper hand with how their styles mesh currently?

Ive always thought Joyce would be a problem for most of the division. You've got to be quick and mobile to keep him off you for 12 rounds. As hittable as Joyce is, hes insanely durable too. AJ hits hard but its not ATG power.

That's what I'm thinking, Joyce's tireless workrate and clubbing power combined with a sound understanding of keeping distance with a jab and footwork tells me he could even outbox AJ in parts. I'd say his durability means he could outlast and break AJ down.

Really want to see Joyce vs Wilder, just to see how durable Joyce really is. Probably won't happen though since Joyce needs to work his way up and isn't the youngest

    Is it ****.

Joyce has a great resume for just 13 professional fights, but his top three wins are 2 gatekeepers and a prospect... This is not the kind of record that leads you to feel confident that he's going to beat one of the top 3 in the division.

Nothing about Joyce suggests he'd have any answer whatsoever for the AJ from the Ruiz rematch, for example, he's too slow and too static to beat that.

Talk about Joyce's chin all you like, AJ wouldn't need a KO to beat him.

Joyce may prove me wrong, but any fan that knows the first thing about boxing knows if you look at a fighter on the up and assume they're the next elite you're going to be disappointed far, far more often than not.

Joyce is overrated for what he's done to date.
Joshua is arguably underrated for what he's done to date.

No way is that a good fight for Joyce, certainly not yet - he's got more stepping up to do first IMHO.

It's starting to look like Aj is that guy in prison who got beat up and now every don is gonna take his lunch.

which reminds me, i gotta go check out the YB channel to see if hes crying about AJ

Joyce is much more effective at applying pressure than a far overweight Ruiz, plus he does it at a much higher pace. AJ also doesn't have the stamina to keep an even bigger and stronger man with endless stamina off him for 12 rounds. That combined with his fragile chin would probably result in a stoppage loss as he's tiring out.
Joyce may be slow but all he'd have to do is suffocate Joshua slowly to beat him. I'm not saying he's guaranteed to win, but the matchup is quite damn even with how they mesh together.

I would fancy Joyce, Chisora and even Whyte to beat Joshua now.

Joshua will still clobber Joyce and frankly he might make it look easy.

More speed, more power, more skill.

The only thing Joyce has is the chin edge and I'd not want my chin to be my defence against Joshua.

FFS, I'm getting sick of how people are responding to this latest defeat.

People saying fights like this are more interesting now or vs Wilder.

How are Joe Joyce, slowest fighter in existence, and Wilder, REMOTELY similar to Usyk?

Styles make fights. All AJ's losses have proven is that speedy fighters that can box cause him problems.

What will likely happen is AJ outboxes Joyce. There'll be a bit of drama, but I don't see Joyce being able to finish AJ off.

This has AJ UD written all over it.

No one said he's remotely like Usyk, it's just AJ's weaknesses are even more apparent now. They just so happen to not be the kind of weaknesses you want in a guy facing Joe Joyce.
Get over the fact that people will be considering AJ a decent but not even remotely elite hypejob from now on, because it's true.

I watch all the Joyce fights on YouTube so I can play it on x1.5 speed so then it looks like a normal boxing match.

Except that one is far more proven than the other... It's a very, very big jump from super green Dubois and a Takam that's gassed within 4 rounds up to AJ.

That's not to say it's impossible, but it's a brave man who'd beg against the far more proven fighter in any match.

I agree with your general point but disagree with the specifics about Joyce. What he does is establish a rhythm with that metronomic jab then suddenly changes pace to great effect.
