In fairness Hearn did say he was very fortunate to win and should rematch the lad.

I’m not going to write him off just yet because I thought the exact same about Conor Benn and he’s turned out half decent.

There is a big difference between Conor Benn and Soup Hatton though.

Conor Benn has talent and shows an ability to improve. He lost the fight to the french journeyman but it wasnt outright robbery and there was confidence he would win a rematch. It was clear he was improving with every fight and he has come on alot now hasnt he.

Soup Hatton has absolutely zero talent, and shows zero ability to improve. He lost that fight wide and wasnt even in the fight, a rematch would be no different. He is 4 fights deep down and just as bad as he was on his debut.

So someone (please anyone) needs to tap Ricky on the shoulder and have a chat.

Its embarrassing for him as a legend, embarrassing for his son and embarrassing for the sport.

His son just doesnt have anything in terms of boxing talent. If he wants to fight let him go to white collar boxing, or just train and spar do it. But his son is going to get seriously hurt, as he doesnt have it. You cant fight lowest tier opponents forever either.

Campbell wont be the first son of a famous sports person to have a bash at what made their Dad famous and then not have the ability.
I wonder if Ricky is thinking getting him a few sponsors, make a few quid. Match him softly for 10 fights while earning a but and that might set him up for later in life.
He shouldn't be fighting on massive cards like this and he needs sometime away from the spotlight to learn problem is he gets decked at the York Hall with no one watching that might derail the money train.
He's 20 and doesn't have any power as yet - it's going to be a slow burn for him as at the minute he doesn't look to have anything that would make anyone worry about facing him.

I'm raging today, the amount of crap I've watched and read about Hatton is unreal.. It's outrageous.

Apparently we should all be feeling sorry for Campbell Hatton, we should all be sympathetic for his circumstances and because of his age and the PRESSURE he is under.

    GTFO

Campbell Hatton, his family and Eddie Hearn are using his name and conning British boxing fans, they are fully aware of what they are doing.. it's a blatant grift.

Go and ask fighter who is 20 years old, on the bottom of undercards, maybe even a floater fight, outside the venue an hour before their fight trying to sell tickets..

And then having to drive halfway across the country home after the fight because they can't afford to stay in a hotel and have to go to work Monday morning,

    THATS PRESSURE.

Campbell Hatton and his team are fine with the puff pieces, promos, little interviews and plastering "blue moon" all over social media and then turn around and talk about expectations, how many eyes are on him and pressure.

Hatton is average AT BEST, the sooner he gets battered the better, he hasn't got it, he is never gonna have it and all this is about is making this young man a few quid and buy him a house... like Hearn did with Dave Allen.

This is a charity event with Hatton and not a career path.

I think this is one thing that frustrates me with Hearn every signing he makes is purely down to factors outside of boxing ability.

Florian Marku clearly isn't brilliant, Connor Benn, Lewis Ritson etc etc etc

Spot on, Hearn has turned boxing in the XFactor or Britains Got Talent.

    I would like to add..

Hearn makes it all about "The Journey", "The Story".. Hearn found a formula that sort of worked, that drew in casual fans to fill seats and buy PPVs.

It's a cross between WWE and those reality shows, every fighter has a sad or difficult journey, even the away fighters get the same treatment now..

Warrington Vs Lara, Hearn was telling anybody that listened Lara was an alcoholic at 8 years old.. it was so bad even Bellew told Hearn to "F Off" when Hearn was telling him the story and Hearn repeated the same story during the build up to the rematch.

This is what British boxing is now, stories and journeys, not much to do with reality or talent, Hearn is taking average fighters and giving them the full Hearn treatment and when it all goes wrong..

It's about the "REBUILD", it's just rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat and it's getting to the point even those casual fans who lap it up are starting to do double takes.

Like this and yeah, these sand bagged lads does not know real small hall hardship that might happen.
They already are with surnames and good money investments behind them.

It is not like for example one lad I know had experienced: U sell tickets and are enough well known in this city, I sadly currently can't get CW boxer so please not only sell tickets, ensure that you are >200lbs for this night weight ins ( because this now will be your pro debut fight as HW boxer not cruiser ) and later hear accusations that opponent had been just out boxed not impressively finished in distance. Instead of thank you, you had sold tickets.
Like this if it is not enough high level promotion.
Another example: guy get as an opponent lad who supposedly doesn't have high ammy accomplishments. Yeah, this if exclude stoppages % ( KO, TKO , RSC ) and fact that this lad had MT pro record not vs cab drivers ( in west term cab driver I think had developed because tourists who wish to get pro record usually are given to fight with part time fighters, usually long ago over the hill lads ).
This guy had ended his pro boxing prospect's dreams with this fight. One fight.

Yeah and I sometimes a bit do have fun to read things: like have respect etc if there some name with good PR while sometimes the same ppl are calling not well advertised fighters as bin mens, road sweepers and plumbers.
While I had experienced that in small hall show they had used local businessman, gym co owner as a fighter just cos he is able to sell tickets and loves to fight.
A binmen firefighter etc examples from real world.

Ricky Hatton put up an IG post pretty much ignoring the robbery and taking a thinly veiled dig at the “average man”, aka us plebs. They’d gain more respect if they just owned it and said it should be an L. Offer Martinez a rematch.

It is nothing but pure desperation to throw a kid as limited as him onto these high profile cards to be embarrassed.everybody involved needs to have a word with themselves.

Looked bang average and should have lost. I don't even recall Conor Benn getting the preferential treatment Campbell Hatton has got.

Campbell’s just broken his social media silence and put up an IG post saying “he can see why people scored it for Martinez but he felt he did enough to win”.

Laughable. Like I said above it’s nailed on that Hatton will “KO” his next opponent because he and Matchroom need to save face. The comments to Ricky’s IG post were overwhelmingly negative. The public aren’t falling for this nonsense.

Spot on said it before and that's what DAZN/Matchroom boxing is becoming now a glorified celebrity appearance at a club on Saturday night. Same as the DAZN presenters look at all the attention they've been getting on here and on social media, more celebrity appearances
