If Marciano beat him, he's be considered another old cruiser. I'd favor the Rock over a 34 year old soft 210- 220 technician without power or youthful speed. Just because this old cruiser exposed a good modern super heavy doesn't mean he has the tools to beat a relentless pressure fighter.
Usyk hasn’t had that many fights really has he? Not as a pro. How old would Usyk have to be to get to the 40 fight mark? The challengers to the title were expected to have fought a lot more times in the 1950s before the age of 34.
The quality of his opposition has been very high though. If he had another 20 nondescript bums in there as filler it would not impress me that much more.
Agreed. Usyk is a better version of Marciano, minus the power. Rocky doesn't have the IQ to beat Usyk. Nor any notable advantage.
What? They’re literally nothing alike. Rocky also had a good ring iq with an A+ plus corner that assisted on top of it. Marcianos advantages would be Stamina Power in both hands Both we’re good athletes and good defensively. What we don’t know is how Usyk would respond to a swarmer of Marcianos caliber. Marciano would be the best opponent Usyk stepped in with can’t really say Usyk is the best opponent Marciano faced. Not yet anyway. I like Usyk but he needs to face more guys before putting him up there. He very well could get there.
Archie Moore Jersey Joe Walcott Ezzard Charles All are more accomplished and just as good of boxers. Unless you believe Usyk has surpassed these HOF men at a mere 19 Fights?
This is like arguing that Bob Cousy would beat Lebron James in a game of 1 on 1. No one can prove it wrong of course, but at some point you just have to use common sense. Going by the eye test alone, Usyk is levels above Marciano in skill level.
That’s because you don’t know what skill is. Is Usyk more skilled then Moore, Charles, Walcott? Although Cousy may not be better then Lebron I’d take Russell over that soft clown anyway. But that’s an argument for another forum.
No, he isn't. Unless you mean offensive player, but it's false statement. Russell was absurdly dominant on defense and no, it's not about the difference in competition. Please, don't try to talk about things you don't know much about. Of course LeBron would destroy Cousy one on one, but this wouldn't even prove he's better basketball player (he is, but this logic is extremely flawed).
