Usyk on points(tentatively) Usyk is a legitimate p4p fighter who's moved up and undressed arguably the man at heavyweight.usyk is too quick,smart,balanced to not give a man mountain like fury hell...having said that if anyone can beat usyk it is fury.
I'd go for a Fury win too. He's way more of a fluid fighter than Joshua but like others have mentioned he's willing to fight rough and spoil the fight which will be to Fury's advantage not Usyk's.
Well last night has shown us that Usyk is the real deal at the weight for sure. However I'd make Fury favourite in this one with his size, reach, ring smarts. Certainly wouldn't bet against Usyk though.
They both have that x factor where you just can't imagine either losing !!! A truly incredible match up and one I hope we see. I think we will see.it in the spring to be honest, I really don't think AJ should take the rematch. He said before the fight that if he loses he has nowhere to go. I Think he should rebuild and wait. once usyk and Fury fight each other I think both will retire!!
It would be a great fight. It's hard to say who would win. A lot would depend on how Fury fights. If he fights on the front foot like in the Wilder rematch, he will have more pop on his shots and gain more respect from Usyk. He can then use his size and strength on the inside to tie up, maul, and tire out Usyk. The problem here, though, is that unlike Wilder, Usyk can fight backing up and he can also fight on the inside. If he fights on the outside like he did against Wlad and in the first Wilder fight, he can frustrate Usyk. This fight will be tougher than the two aforementioned fights, though. Wlad and Wilder have a basic style; jab, straight right thrown when they feel nothing will come back at them. This is bread and butter for a back foot counter puncher like Fury. Usyk won't do this. He will throw a lot of feints, won't fight in straight lines, and will throw in combinations. He will his also punch when Fury punches. These tactics will go some way to negating the size difference. I would love this fight to be made. It's very intriguing due to the skills of both men and the fact that they will both have multiple game plans come fight night.
Fury vs Usyk is the sort of fight you need to see live. Feints can only be truly appreciated when watching in an arena. Fury vs Usyk at Tottenham would be awesome.
Usyk moving like he did Saturday gives anyone fits, I've never seen anyone that size move so fluidly and rarely slow down at heavy. Fury could march forward but he would struggle to close Usyk down I think. Would be a real style clash could see it getting ugly with Fury dipping into the dark arts to try and pin Usyk down.
Probably the one and only time I wouldn't root for Fury in a fight. Sadly for Usyk I suspect a slightly more aggressive Fury would nick it on points. Suspect it might turn into the boxing equivalent of a 0-0 cup tie won on penalties and great for the proper boxing fans; no doubt it would end up discussed amongst casuals as a flop that didn't do the "numbers" Joshua gets...
Fury Is a different animal to AJ, lets not get that confused. He's bigger, smarter, tougher and fitter. Fury will land jabs from the outside and smother Usyk on the inside, leaning on him. He'll be more elusive than AJ and won't slow down if Usyk lands big. I'm not 100% sure Fury beats Usyk. It'll be a very competitive fight for sure. However, he's going to do a lot better against Usyk than AJ did and I feel he can get the win on points in a close fight. It's a very intriguing matchup and one I would love to see. Hope it happens soon.
As I've stated before I'm not convinced Fury is anywhere near the level he was pre retirement. Low work rate and out put of Fury, defensively not what he was (eg Wallin fight) and questionable chin makes Usyk (great footwork, movement, higher bixing IQ and much higher work rate and intelligent pressure fighter) a bad matchup for him styliscally. I would favour Usyk stopping him.
I get where you’re coming from, Fury hasn’t proved he can be effective over 12 rounds against a decent opponent since he came back. You can just never write off Fury though, if he sees Usyk as a huge threat then he’ll raise his game I’m sure of it. The way Usyk boxed and moved on Saturday though, you’d have to say he’s the one to beat all things considered.
Dropped by Journeyman Pjakic, average CW Cunningham, rocked and hurt by Journeyman Flirtha and dropped twice by Wilder. Also only undefeated only due to dodgy biased judging of Terry O'connor in the first McDermott fight.
I see you're as anti Fury as ever. Usyk may be capable of beating Fury on points. I totally get that. But he isn't stopping Fury over 36 rounds nevermind 12 and anyone with half a brain or more knows that.
