Usyk on points in a fair world. Ali would have kittens trying to deal with the Ukrainian's style.

    Exactly....

But the closest you're going to get, besides Usyk himself, is Fury.

If Usyk is dominant over Fury, then I'd say he'd stand a decent chance of getting a decision, but if he loses or the fight is close, then you have to ask how close is Fury to Muhammad Ali?

    And who would that be?

Let's face it, there's no one alive that resembles Ali. He was a one off.

I was thinking what HW's in the past would Usyk have an easy time with, and those who would give him a hard time.
His footwork, speed, ring IQ and stamina are his positives. Only negatives I see is at HW he doesn't have one punch
KO power and perhaps a real giant who USES HIS BRAWN would trouble him.

So...who has all of the above? Dempsey, Tunney, Ali, Frazier I think are in the "quick/smart/Stamina" category.
Lewis, Klitchko's (both of them) are in the Giana category.

So....those 7 guys would be a handful for Usyk. He might win, he might not. I'd say he goes 2-5 with wins over Tunney and Frazier
but loses to the other 5.

LOL, no. Yes, Fury is quick on his feet for his size, but it only looks that way because he's not in the ring with Ali.
Fury does not have the power to keep Ali away from him. And if Cunningham (!) could put him on his back, imagine
    what Ali would do.

But in truth the talent pool was only deep in the US. Rest of the world wasn't that big on boxing.
Nowadays the talent pool is spread out all over the world.

True. But are these counties' best athletes gravitating to boxing? They're probably football first with the possible exception of the UK.

Latin America (minus Cuba) has always had a strong pro boxing contingent, but interestingly Puerto Rico's talent pool has gotten worse, not better.

The biggest beneficiary of the globalisation of boxing has been Eastern Europe/Central Asia. It's unclear to me how much of a talent attractor boxing is there, though.

Ali had some very competitive fights in the 60’s, it’s got stupid how people think you couldn’t hit him. Not one of them 60’s contenders that Ali fought would beat Usyk, none. Mildenberg a southpaw much smaller than Usyk and not anywhere near talented posed problems for Ali taking him late. He was not much to fast for Usyk in the slightest. Ali has a strong chance of being beat

Ali KO1 every heavyweight ever is usually the result of these discussions. Nevermind him getting DROPPED and almost stopped by a 185 lb nobody brit boy.

Ali will always be overrated as **** because he's a cultural figure. There's a big overlap between people who think BRUCE LEE would beat up Khabib and Ali fan mentality.

I reckon Usyk would faint before the fight even started. Ali RTD 1. This career 40-14 185lb brit guy got lucky.

As boxing became less mainstream, the number of boxers registered as professionals has dropped significantly.

The HW division is weak, weaker than it was even in the 90's.

I would favor, Lewis, Klitschkos, Holyfield, Tyson, and many other HWs over Usyk.

Beating a slow, lethargic, low IQ fighter like Joshua doesn't put you in the Frazier, Ali level.

Usyk could beat 70s Ali. 1964-1967 Ali was as tough as rock.

Usyk is much more skilled. Ali cant use his size in this one...
