Fury is the king of the heavyweight jungle. The gorilla can sleep where he pleases, talk as he pleases.

When Usyk's ready to box again, the champ will do business with him.

It's not quite a glamor bout, and that's what he's really expressing when he talks Usyk down — any of us would be pissed if our lavish banquet were whisked out from under our noses by some nimble, gatecrashing cat burglar before we could devour it.

But Usyk is now #1 contender, and Tyson will meet him in due course.

First things first, finish off the Wilder saga and then schedule some other work for the first half of 2022 if the Ukrainian appears intent on taking some time off.

It would be an extremely intriguing clash of slickness

Fury doesn't want big fights. He wants to wake up and drink pints of beer in his Versace pyjamas. Fury had 6 fights since Wlad Klit in 2015, including big names such as Sefer Seferi, the Pinata, Tom Schwarz, and Ottoman Walden.

Fury could talk up a tsunami in the Atlantic but couldn't be bothered training or fighting.

The self proclaimed best HW has not attempted fights with Whyte, Parker, Hrgovic, Joyce, Dubois, Hunter, Ruiz, Gassiev, and most importantly, Joshua or Usyk.

PS his best win is old Wlad who couldn't pull the trigger, a fight that was a close, cagey, UD. He also got put on his ass 3 times by Wilder until he realised bum squad had no boxing skills and he could force him to move backwards. This guy has no right to call himself anywhere near the best.

Nothing a slickster fears more than another slickster, Usyk, however, would take on an army of fellow slicksters and emerge victorious.

Parker expressed a strong interest in boxing his pal Fury? At which junctures should Fury have fought Hrgovic, Joyce or Hunter, and do Hrgovic, Joyce or Hunter know about this? When exactly was Fury offered a bout with Andy Ruiz? Was Daniel Dubois aware that he was ready to take on Tyson Fury in 2019 (Avenging Nathan might've been a snappy title for that one)? Gassiev was completely AWOL between losing to Usyk and Fury wrecking Wilder, a bizarre name to throw out there. Prior to this weekend, Usyk had fought Witherspoon and ol' Del at heavy, and his first big target was always a mandatory shot at Joshua.

You speak as if all these fights were right there on the table for him to reach out and grab. Dillian Whyte barking about being ducked by Tyson doesn't make it real. If the WBC mandates that fight after Wilder III, Fury will pick a hand, tie it behind his back and school Whyte with the other. That's how much of a threat Dillian Whyte represents to the champ. I look forward to seeing what that flop does with Wallin.

Fury's been locked in with Wilder for the last nineteen months due to a compound of factors, prohibiting a Joshua showdown. Fact is, he came out of the woods in 2018 and went more or less straight to one of the two top boys' back yards, beat him one way, got stiffed, then took it out of the hands of the judges and delivered a brutal rematch beatdown in one of the most memorable performances the sport's seen since the twenty-first century began. A storm of circumstances has prevented him from capitalizing on that momentum.

I gather that you harbor a personal dislike of Fury, but you should be capable of setting that aside and making the criticisms vaguely reasonable.

This old chestnut is about as lame as Joshua's injured arm, lamer even.

Many observers were comparing Wlad to a fine wine when he splattered Pulev twelve months before Fury imprisoned his soul for eternity and reduced him to monologues defending Saxe-Coburg monarchs and Elton frigging John. That fart in a trance couldn't pull the trigger because Fury didn't let him pull the trigger.

If, for the sake of argument, Fury loses to Wilder in a couple weeks, you're not going to see me excusing him (short of some obvious corruption/scandal that causes the forum to explode in an uproar). That is because any excuse Fury or his supporters could come up with — he underestimated Wilder, he didn't prepare properly, he was unfocused, his demons got the better of him — would be lame and entirely his own fault. Then again, maybe Paris is suffering from postnatal depression...

Tyson, you fought 6 times in over 6 years and several potential opponents were listed for your perusal, that is black and white, and totally reasonable.

You didn't fight the best version of Wlad, but you definitely beat him in a very close decision. What is your next best win? What kind of resume is required to be the undisputed HW champion of the world?

I believe that you are one of the two best HWs currently fighting, even though you've done very little to prove it is so. Just go out there, beat Wilder, then take the fight with Usyk/AJ without making ridiculous demands, and let us, the fans, see once and for all who the best HW on the planet really is.

If you don't beat Wilder and then face the winner of Usyk / AJ 2, we will have the confirmation that you are indeed avoiding the best fighters and you cannot be the real champ.

Terry Silver is Oleksandr Usyk's mother. Maybe.

I hope somebody has watched Karate Kid 3. :p
