I reckon they will do the rematch, although this time Martinez’s agent will be reminded what his fighters role is supposed to be, and maybe given an extra £5k or something in his pay packet as a sweetener. Although Martinez will comply and not go so hard, Campbell will struggle away, to a points win and it will be spun as him coming through his first test of character etc
Probably. I imagine Bellew can become quite irritable when he wants to be left alone and wants to get home safely to the wife and kids.
I imagine this is the method Matchroom will repeatedly use to maneuver Campbell Hatton into a shot at the British title as a bill topper at some point.
"No, it was Sky who wanted Campbell Hatton so high up on the card: it was all them. I'm just the promoter, so I've got no say in it."
I am not so secretly hoping that Martinez goes in there and lights Soup Hatton up like a Christmas tree again. Ignoring the agreement and saying **** it. It would be great wouldn’t it
But the lad is only 20 though mate. Yes I know no one forced him to sign the contract but the blame should go to his father and uncle for allowing him to steer his career into this direction. There should be blame apportioned somewhere. I'm just saying it should go to his family, not Campbell. He's only 20. I'd definitely take the advice of my father and uncle at the age as I didnt know fack all. Then you got Matchroom and 258 Mgmt coming in heavy with a nicely presented package offering him potential superstar status with attractive financial packages. What would any 20 year old do unless you stop them?
Well, this too is some kind of reality and I know why, I too was young. However I know lads who were a bit younger and there: U might get 3-2 pro record opponent not 0-10 pro record opponent in your pro debut in the front of approx 4000 ppl. Just cos you are " eurobum " not with good surname and proper passport. This is what this is, he had been spoon fed with opponents like King with 0 doubts had access to all best training available, including sparring partners.
Got to laugh at the 'average man' comment. Like the average man couldn't be given the opportunity to train full time as a boxer (something that a lot of talented pros operating at decent level don't get to do, e.g Maxi Hughes) and then still get beat up by the worst possible level of fighter you can find with a pro license. Yeah, you tell em Ricky.
Dear God. If someone does have intent to put on such guy money or guy, his parents etc does have $ then he might get elite level treatment and camps plus pre fight camps and all associated with this process. Not only 1 miracle coach who must make wonders. Therefore it is damn difficult to understand even difference between countries where ams might be " amateurs " not alone between pro prospects. Ofc this isn't about Campbell but in overall, it is damn difficult to understand for causal ppl what thing elite level treatment for training is and how much this does cost in GBP or EUR or $. Not alone these sparring partners etc things.
Is stuff maybe 50% forums posters might beat not alone average am boxer in city. It is what it is here. Pro license does not makes someone into some hero. Hero just had paid for health check and provided that he does have experience in ams ( in some countries this is not mandatory ) and let's go here. Unlike bummy " no pro licnese = bums " who maybe walked till end of fight vs prime am Beterbiev version etc alike nonsnese.
I understand what you're saying about the advice being given to him, somebody should have told him from that family that he can't box, can't fight and should go and find a career away from boxing. But at age 20 he can get married, have children, get mortgage, join the army and then go to the Middle East and get killed.. without anybody being able to stop him, know what I mean? He isn't a baby, he is man, a young man yes, but still a man.
The funny thing is.. throw "the average" man in the ring with Campbell and it could go either way.. actually I'd probably pick the "average man" to knock him out
