Bit 2015 aren't we? Yes, Fury absolutely has the power to keep Ali off him. Not to knock him out, but to alter the dynamic in his favour sure. Want to bring up Cunningham? OK, I raise you Cooper and... Doug Jones?
You can't accurately compare resumes over this period of time, too much has changed. They were great fighters in their day, when technology and science were far more primitive and the global talent pool was tiny by comparison.
What period of time are you referring to ? I didn't mention any specific period of time. (Personally, I draw an admittedly artificial line of sorts at Louis....Pre Louis was just too different. But not everybody does). So again, which HWs have a better resume than Ali ?
This is the best site for exposing Ali and the Idol Worshippers: http://www.heavyweightblog.com/
Coming from a guy who thinks Anthony Joshua beats prime Lennox Lewis i don't think you're too bright and that site is pretty biased. It addresses that Ali fought small guys but he also fought and beat guys over 200 and some over 220. You just glance over this and ignore that Wlad got legit KO'd by a few mediocre heavyweights inferior to Hasim Rahman and Oliver Mccall, i think Ross Purrity got a draw with Tommy Morrison at best and lost to Michael Grant along with several others and Brewster lost to a nobody guy who was the same size as Ron Lyle. And the huge powerful southpaw Corrie Sanders ? Smaller than Cooney and less skilled. The same Cooney that Larry Holmes outboxed and dispatched of. But you don't wanna talk about this stuff do you ? You have no idea what you're talking about. Explain in detail how Fury's more skilled than Ali. Don't say he's bigger. Explain how Fury posseses more skill in boxing.
Why would you expect that? This forum is full of nostalgics and people who don't want to accept greatness (in whatever form it may be) when they see it. There are people out there that think Joe Frazier would stand a chance against Vitali Klitschko or Tyson Fury, when in reality, he would have about 1% of a chance. Usyk would probably beat Ali. He's better than he ever was.
Usyk's record is easily better than Wladimir Klitschko's. He's literally beaten Joshua, who although he is no legend, is better than anybody Wladimir Klitschko ever beat. His reign was full of absolute no hopers.
Why don't you tell us more about how stupid it is to favour a 6'3 210-215 lbs guy over a "modern SHW", that It's equal to favouring a WW over a LHW, crackpot?
A lot of those no hopers would have had serious hopes against AJ. Povetkin, Haye and Peter in particular but many others as well. Is Ruiz better or more dangerous than Ibragimov, Thompson, Chagaev etc.? A prime Arreola obviously beats Ruiz, so no. I agree in principle though. AJ's better than all of them save Povetkin, who Wlad beat with the most disgracefully negative tactics and a paid-off ref. Usyk conversely went into the lion's den, schooled and battered AJ, plus all of the cruiser wins which would have easily been among the best wins on Wlad's resume.
Maybe, but Klitschko's performance against Povetkin was one of the biggest skidmarks in heavyweight championship history. An utter disgrace from start to finish by Klitschko and referee. Incredibly bad. This is not a feather in his cap, but a massive skidmark on his record. I do not consider that a win. It was beyond a joke and the sort of thing that puts me off boxing. All true.
Usyk beat Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury beat…. Wilder. You need to compare “nostalgia” with logic to. Fury was dropped by a mediocre crusierweight, not saying Frazier wins 100% but there is a chance my man. Also “Usyk was better then Ali ever was” seriously man? Your starting to let the AJ win get to your head. He isn’t all that. This forum just creamed because Usyk beat the man they hated most, the “bodybuilder”. Wether Ali or Usyk wins is different, but saying Usyk at his peak at heavyweight is better then Ali at his peak at heavyweight is just a horse **** take.
