Golota was a good fighter who imo got robbed against Chris Byrd and John Ruiz. So yes, Golota

what physical issues? (do you just mean his lack of height/reach?) to my very casual knowledge, until he got older, his only issue was mental. he had good stamina and he was pretty durable.

well, he WAS real durable. nobody came close to one-shotting him. the times he was knocked down, it took him being exhausted and being beaten on round after round.

to say any boxer couldn't be knocked out is ridiculous though.

Nothing to do with his height or reach, though both were considered small even then.

In his autobiography Tyson discusses a history of bronchitis and having lung issues most of his life. Tyson fought hard in spurts and then when given an opportunity would rest in the clinch, giving into what is called "The silent agreement"

It's how he paced himself in fights where he didn't get the guy out after three rounds.

Tyson is the most overrated boxer in the history of boxing. His best wins are pathetic, considering there were a lot of good names to face.

An exciting and very good boxer. A detestable person.

seems like he overcame it. if he got winded easily during fights, he didn't look it. he only seemed to stop his initial onslaught when it wasn't working, and then he'd get more cautious and wait for openings to try for a knockout. (did he ever aim to win a single fight on points? i doubt it).

i'd say he's largely redeemed himself. i could see him having gone down the road of being a bitter old man, and instead, he's got nothing but positivity and nice things to say. he's always needed someone to look out for him and care for him to bring out the best in him. he flourished when Cus was there to play that role. in old age, his current wife plays that role and deserves a ton of credit for how much she's helped him turn his life around.

Nothing special about that run. Wilder probably KO 's everyone you mentioned. Fury and Usyk whoops them too.

    Underrated by many,overrated by some

He beat a lot of solid guys and did it in sensational fashion

He certainly wasn't the GOAT, but it's a disgrace how Atlas and others portray him

Bravo. Excellent post. I’m 37 years old and I don’t think I will ever see anyone beating Mike Tyson’s record in my life time…

Holmes had very little time to prepare. An even older Holmes was far more impressive vs Mercer and Holyfield. The Holmes who fought Mercer would likely make it the distance at least.

A win against an ATG is a win and means something, but he faced about the worst possible version of Holmes.
