Which fight in recent years, has felt like a true 10-10 round? They were used so often in the 70s and before. In the 80's, 10-10 rounds really weren't used at all as well with 10-8 rounds without a knockdown.

Whens the last time you've even seen a judge put a 10-10 round on a scorecard in a fight in the last 5 years?

Viktor Feschenko gave round 8 as a 10-10 for Joshua-Usyk on Saturday.

    I did not know this!

Personally never saw any 10-10 rounds in that fight. Mostly Usyks domination and AJ coming alive in like 2 rounds then goes back to being on the backfoot getting tagged.

10-10 rounds should be used if the round is so close is cannot be determined, because either that or you're guessing.

GGG vs Canelo rematch round 12. I scored 10-10 that round.

I think I had a 10-10 round in Taylor vs Prograis a few years ago, one of the rounds I simply couldn't separate them.

I try my hardest not to score 10-10 rounds

I think the most recent one I scored was round 10 of GGG-Canelo 1

Judges still can score even rounds but sadly they are discouraged to do so. It sitll happens but very rarely.

On my personal scorecards I try my hardest to differentiate who's being just a tad better in close rounds but in cases where I find myself at the end of the round feeling undecided, where its just really a flip of a coin type of round, I go ahead and score the round even.

I find it so often that opening rounds in fights are feelout/study rounds. Nothing much really happening but alot of feinting by the fighters to determine what the other is likely to do with certain moves of theirs. So often in these types of rounds there is'nt any effective punches landed by either fighter. So on my scorecards I do often find myself scoring even opening rounds of a fight feeling its unfair to give it to one fighter or the other based on what? Their athleticism maybe? One of them looked smoother in naviigating the ring?
One of them maybe posed for the camera so he can get the round on "showmanship"???
Maybe I liked the way one of the fighters walked the ring better than the other so I will call it ring generalship?
I say hogwash, in an opening round where nothing yet has happened as far as effective punches being landed, unless one fighter is running without any regards of an attempt to engage while the other is in full chase, I'll more than likely score an even round in an uneventful opening round.

More implementation of this is really just another tool to rob fighters.

A dishonest judge can just as easily score dishonestly with or without implementing even rounds.

    "it was close duuuuuuude"

Is less outrageous than blatantly robbing. Even if that's robbing too.

Rounds that you cant give to fighter A, but you can rob from fighter B. That's a 10-10 round most of the time a judge uses it.

Us, aficionados, are different. There are a lot of rounds that we can judge even (we actually see them as even, when they are not by a slight margin), because we are not professional judges. I could easily score one 10-10 round in mostly every fight, that's unacceptable.

A dishonest judge has his score sheet filled out before the fight. This gives judges yet another tool to rob a fighter where more deception and nuance is required. See the judging in Canelo fights.

Choc and Estrada 2 had some… I was even tempted to score the 12th 10-10 as they were both going so hard for it.
