I heard Jack taught Schmeling how to beat Louis. which means Jack probably would have been able to do it himself

Usually, to be in a conversation of greats you have to be, well, great...

I heard he taught Einstein the Theory of Relativity and Jimmy Page how to play guitar.

You remember Roosevelt's famous speech "There's nothing to fear, but fear itself"? Yeah, that was JJ, too.

I'd go one step further and say that Tommy Fury would KO him faster than he will, inevitably, KO Paul.

I am so happy for you that you have never seen footage of these guys. They make Kimbo Slice look like Lomachenko.

Actually the opposite is true. There's been a direct relationship between Johnson's esteem and availability of his fights and details of his life. Turns out he was a shite fighter, and even more of a shite person.

    Johnson was a great fighter.

The question of whether or not he was a good person, is not particularly important.

I don't think that this is particularly well supported by evidence.

He didn't teach him, but he spotted the same flaw in Louis that Max did, namely that Joe did not return his lead hand to the guard position after jabbing.Johnson v Louis? Hell of a fight!

    Yeah, probably.

Remember, revisionists have made these dudes into legends they were not. By the time Langford became a Heavyweight, he was the real deal. But other fighters, who've largely become forgotten, were heralded as the elite of their day. Look up Jack Britton, for example.

I have seen enough to know what we are dealing with.

Objection to Britton? Didn't I just tell you HE was considered the best of his era. Same with O'Brien. We actually have footage of O'Brien clowning Burns. But the judges didn't like his defensive tactics.

Did you know Erne, not Gans, was considered the technical master of the day when McGovern pelted him?

    Have you researched Kid Lavigne?

I respect you, Tonto. You're clearly interested in Boxing and know a lot. But a lot of people don't know the truth of the past. It's been filtered by highly subjective authors forwarding an agenda.

Louis pre-Schemlling 1 would **** Johnson. Louis would become the wife-beater, Johnson would become the wife.

You really think Ketchel hit harder than Louis?
