Different style and skill sets between Haye and Usyk … I could see AJ utilizing the Wlad style and beating Haye…
It is not a foregone conclusion either way but I would side with Joshua. He even probably has better stamina than Haye, and I can't imagine Joshua letting Haye circle the ring at a slow pace. Haye is seriously overrated at Heavyweight but still has a little bit more than a puncher's chance. He would need to be brave and commit to landing one big punch and capitalising on it.
Exactly, Haye with a 100% fit toe beats any man in boxing history. But he has a glass toe so AJ's gameplan should be to go after the toe and get an easy win.
I always said that prime Haye - e.g. that beat Valuev - would likely starch AJ, because AJ was a bit chinny. But then the AJ that beat Ruiz by staying on the back foot - I then re-assessed and thought it's possible Haye would be toe cautious and get beat similar to Wlad. One think for sure though Usyk beats Haye 6 days of the week and twice on Sunday
Prime Haye is heavy handed and could box with good movement, speed and cardio. Haye certainly a big puncher than Usyk so I think he would stop Joshua early to mid rounds .
Who did Haye even beat as a heavyweight? or even a cruiserweight Haye would probably lose this fight mentally just like he lost to Fury mentally before they even got in the ring. AJ might be a dummy but he still (had) some confidence to him. Haye...not really. He is a bluffer. AJ probably stops him. You see it with his Fury Wilder predictions "That's insane for Fury to walk down Wilder, you can't do that! I've sparred him!" he projects his own weakness.
I doubt Haye wins a decision but he is a heavier puncher than Usyk and could pile it on late as Joshua tires from chasing him about. UD Joshua hedged with late Haye KO.
Haye was better than most people give him credit for. He messed up his career taking easy fights, and making silly excuses though.
Haye was a mediocre HW and an overrated CW. He'd get starched by any half decent fighter at the weight if he didn't do his running game. Joshua, despite his loss, is more than up to the task.
