It's so annoying to listen to on replay, actually ruins the fight a little bit. What was he thinking? I can't assume it's helping Joshua focus hearing that every few seconds. I wonder if he just made a habit out of it early and thought he had to keep it up even when it was inappropriate so Joshua doesn't start to think he isn't 'brilliant' any more and become demoralised.

If your corner is having to shout advice or motivation at you during a round you're done for. You should be so much in the zone processing what you and the opponent are doing that there is no extra space for rubbish being shouted at you. Amount of times you hear Bellew shouting at the top of his lungs at Chisora/AJ during fights, like what are you doing dude. I was kind of impressed that AJ didn't throw caution to the wind and get himself KO'd by ditching this "box" only approach.

He was just trying to encourage Joshua, keep him going, stop him from being discouraged by what Usyk was able to do to him. In general, Rob doesn't deserve the flack he's catching lately. He's done a good job with Joshua, some name guy wouldn't necessarily have gotten more or better out of him.
