I'm sorry but he is. He has the look of a beaten man, no belief in himself. This is not recoverable and no trainer can improve this. Usyk will knock him out pretty early in the rematch, AJ has no idea who he even is at this point, he is fighting on the memory of what he has been told he is. It's OVER. Time will prove me correct.
not being able to beat Usyk again and him being finished i feel are two different things. You claiming he will never win again? be more specific if you are going to believe you are a soothsayer of the future.
When Usyk, luckily for him, stopped to hammer him in the 12th bodybuilder poked his tongue out as if to say: "You didnt hurt me". The guy is mentally weak and not serious. Big troubles for him on the horizon.
Put your feet up & set a spell, big fella. Like sands through the hourglass, the AJ era has ended. Too bad he never went lineal. Decent enough alphabet champ though. I've got him ahead of Bruno.
He looked terrible - body language-wise - basically as soon as he lost his 'momentum' half way, and to a lesser extent from the first left hand. I made a semi-joking prediction a few days before the fight that Joshua would be so outworked and nonplussed by Usyk that his only thought would be 'forget it Josh, you'll do it right in the rematch!' and eventually no más in his corner. Looks like that was basically correct aside from the fact he didn't literally retire in his corner, but he did seem to retire from the fight mentally. It looked like he cheered at the final bell like a bullied schoolchild at hometime.
Reminds me of McGregor in the latter part of his career. There's something in him that's just gone and I'm not sure it can come back, no matter what shape he's in or what tactics he employs. Part of it is just getting found out by prime, elite competition. The way in which he lost to Ruiz was devastating. He knows he quit in there. If he thought he DIDN'T quit and was trying to regain the clout, the belts, the confidence, he would have fought Ruiz in the same way as the first fight but improved. The tapping jab for 12 rounds against a 282lb marshmallow shows you his confidence is shot. Usyk can do even better in a rematch.
He will never beat anyone of note again, that's fairly specific cos the alternative is possibly beating a few contender bums. I feel for him but the truth is so obvious. He has reached his peak, overachieved after beating old Wlad then it was downhill from there. Usyk will do him serious harm in the rematch.
I wanted Usyk to win, I did think Joshua would eventually KO Usyk though, after losing the rounds up until the KO. Usyk performed outstandingly, and gave a extremely exciting performance. Joshua did perform outstandingly to despite the loss, I had him clearly winning three rounds. I do think Joshua can perform better though, and I expect an improved Joshua when the rematch come, if it will be enough I do not know, can Usyk perform better too, who knows, but I do give Joshua a real chance in the rematch, though I put Uysk as a strong favourite, I do not put it past Joshua to find the KO next time round.
I don't hate him at all, I feel pretty sorry for him. He reminds me of a disillusioned X Factor winner. He can win more pointless fights but he is done at the top level. It was obvious from round 1. He beats nobody at the top, he has found his level.
