Isn't it curious that pre-fight polls that were taken before the rematch occurred indicated that GGG was expected to win by a majority of fans? Like this poll taken before the rematch occurred had GGG 68.4% Canelo 31.6% :

    https://forums.sherdog.com/threads/...gg-canelo-ii-rbr-thread-9-15-hbo-ppv.3825685/

So lets do the math here CJ. About the same % of those who predicted GGG would win before the rematch happened ended up saying GGG won after a close decision that could be argued either way. If you predicted GGG would win, then what's stopping you from making the same argument that you made before the fight? There were no knockdowns, and the judges in either fight were not in unanimous agreement about who won.

All the polls indicate CJ is that GGG was the favorite to win both fights beforehand, and since both fights were classics and close on the cards, all that happened is the majority of fans who expected GGG to win beforehand, the majority of fans who predicted GGG would win, would naturally have an incentive to back their original prediction. Canelo would have needed to win in a landslide for GGG fans who predicted GGG would win to admit they were wrong.

Generally people don't like to admit when they're wrong, and in a fight as close as Canelo GGG was, which could reasonably be scored to either fighter, is it any surprise that GGG, the overwhelming favorite to win going into both fights, ended up getting the majority in polls post-fight? All that happened here CJ is the people who predicted GGG to win ended up saying that GGG should have gotten the decision, and the people who predicted Canelo to win did the same thing.

He'll back out. He wants no part of actually having to demonstrate his boxing knowledge.

Since CJ is so big on polls having so much meaning, lets go back to the prediction poll topic for Canelo GGG 1.

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/ggg-vs-canelo-alvarez-prediction-thread.586963/

    GGG 70.5%, Canelo 29.5%.

Read through the first page of comments, most predictions were GGG by TKO.

The fact is, the vast majority of predictions for the first match ended up being DEAD WRONG. So why would we put any stock into the vast majority of post-fight predictions? The vast majority already proved how wrong they were in pre-fight polls, so the credibility of the majority who predicted GGG winning or GGG by TKO were already shot by the the time the rematch rolled around.

It was the minority polled pre-fight who got the outcome right. The vast majority who predicted GGG winning or GGG by TKO were the ones proven wrong.

Oh @IsaL that wasn't even the official prediction topic LMAO. Here's the OFFICIAL Canelo GGG 1 pre-fight prediction poll!

"This is the thread where you get to bump your post after the fight and show people that you knew exactly how everything was gonna play out." :risas3:

Lets see how the "Majority" did.

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...ennady-ggg-golovkin-prediction-thread.592899/

    Canelo 17.1%
    GGG 82.9%
    Draw 0.0% lmao

"GGG by TKO" "GGG by TKO" "GGG by TKO" "GGG by TKO" "GGG by TKO" "GGG by TKO" "GGG by TKO" . . . sheesh. How could the vast majority be so WRONG @C.J. ???

Not a Single Person polled predicted the outcome correctly of a DRAW!!

But we're supposed to put stock into who majority say WON after the fact? GTFOH!!

How was it that the Vast Majority were so wrong in their predictions pre-fight? Not just a little bit wrong, but wrong on practically every possible level.

"GGG by TKO" "GGG by TKO" "GGG by TKO" "GGG by TKO" "GGG by TKO" "GGG by TKO" "GGG by TKO"

But the same "majority" who predicted the outcome so cataclysmically wrong are who we're relying on now to tell us who really won?

    MAN, GTFOH!

I don't put any stock into what people say. I trust my boxing knowledge.

I can see how why someone would score it for Golovkin. A lot of people don't score defense or ring generalship, or even effective aggression. A lot of people who scored it for Golovkin use the amateur system. They count punches regardless of its effectiveness.

So knowing that I can see why they'd give Golovkin the fight

However boxing has specific rules, and you dont score fights based on punches landed, but score it by factoring Defense, effective aggression, ring generalship, and clean punching.

I don't have any issues with anyone scoring it a draw or even for GGG. I do take issue with anyone saying that there no way Canelo won when according to my scoring he swept the first four rounds and the last three.

And if we're honest, rounds 5 and 6 could have gone either way.
