I will be concerned if he comes in with a big spare tyre around him like he had in fight 1 and the comeback outings. But then again, some on here think Butterbean would ko Joshua.

That's why I've always preferred heavyweights over boxers in the lower weight divisions.

If Josh Taylor beat everyone from 140 to cruiserweight ... not only beat them but knocked them all out ... he'd be considered a god by some people here.

If Wilder gives up 60 pounds and beats the best heavyweight in the world in Fury, they'll find some reason to bash him.

i watch his training footage which everyone says "he looks amazing" i think he looks like **** so either its fake and they are releasing **** training footage or its real and wilders team is not that smart. Having said that when i see his body work and all of that his head looks wide open to get hooked/uppercut by fury.

I agree i think the more wilder tries to do the worse it will be for him like quicksand, if he wants to fight like that i think hes best bet is to come out round one like it's a toughman contest and hope to drop fury.

I think the main difference in this case than in your examples is that the smaller fighter was considered the more skilled one, against the large and slow brute. In this case Fury is undoubtedly the more skilled boxer so it has a tinge of weight bullying when every fight against Wilder a naturally skinny guy Fury seems to try to get closer and closer to weighing 300 lbs.

Also I'm not quite sure how 200 lbs ever became the magic number that any man over 200 lbs is fair game?

Does a 175 lbs boxer have more disadvantage against a 201 lbs boxer than a 201 lbs boxer would have against a 250 lbs boxer? I don't know if there is any science to back that up?

He still had noticeable wings in fight 1.

This fight is hard to sell. Fury beat him twice, and the last fight wasn’t close. Fans didn’t want to see this fight but the court ruled in favor of Wilder. They are obviously hyping Wilders chances and making it look like Fury is slipping. If that’s what it takes to get the people to buy the fight, I hope it works.

Both guys will be in great shape for the fight. Wilder isn’t going to outbox anyone. His only chance is a KO. Fury is smart and a much better boxer but anything is possible. Anything but a Fury win is highly unlikely but you never know.

I’m sticking to my prediction Wilder KO7.. Wilder is taking this very serious and I honestly believe he’s prepared for whatever Fury show up..

He lost the 2nd fight within the first couple of seconds when Fury took a step forward. He didn’t prepare for that and had no clue what to do.

Heigh-ho, men of Fury's size rarely come with his range of abilities. Should this Big Man vs. Bigger Big Man matchup not have been made on account of Fury's just too good? Seems to me a wishy-washy way of looking at it. Wilder competes as a heavyweight, and he was one of the division's titlists for years. Good luck telling him he should never have been in a ring with Tyson Fury.

It's not a magic number, it's a rough line in the sand. Has a lot to do with the kind of power these men 200 and up tend to generate. They're all big men. Some are bigger than others, and that adds to the theater of the division.

Heavyweight is heavyweight, it's where the guys hit hard and fall like timber. Why overcomplicate things by introducing yet another division (which tends to be the gist of most discussions along these lines)? Nobody wants to fight at 'bridgerweight'.

He still wasn't in good condition so for me lean is the wrong word. The second fight he'd bulked up and shed some timber and was stronger all round.

I mean he lost like 140+ pounds so he will never look good, first fight he was too lean and weak. 2nd fight he was bigger and bullied him.

It's not linear. The difference between a minimumweight and a middleweight is vastly greater in proportional terms than the difference between Wilder and Fury, even if they are separated by a similar amount of weight. Athleticism also tends to decline more the further you move up in weight. A champ at lightweight vs a champ at light-middle is a total mismatch, whereas a fight between a 220 lbs former cruiser champ and a 238 lbs SHW champ may be extremely competitive or even a bit of a mismatch in favour of the cruiser, as we saw the other day. It should also be noted that power increases relative to the strength of the chin at the higher weights, so Wilder can have extreme power and length while possessing the speed of a much smaller man. He's like a cruiser-SHW hybrid, which makes him extremely dangerous.

With that being said, I think Wilder is a P4P fighter: he gives up weight (usually 10-20 lbs) practically every time and has still won 38/40 fights 215+ lbs as a historically long-reigning HW champ, with a 92.5% KO ratio. It's pretty unprecedented. I don't know whether Usyk is serious or not but he named Wilder in his top 5 P4P and there is certainly a case for it.

Fury's not enough training VS Wilder's overtraining

Fury can use dirty tactics, Wilder don't have that

It's all a trick. He's actually coming in at 200 pounds once he takes off the 80 pound costume.
