Fury, Joyce and Usyk are the best heavyweights, with Fury sitting on the throne as king of the jungle and Joe and Sasha as second and third best depending on one's personal discretion, though Usyk now has to be considered #1 contender. Wilder is staring down the barrel and Joshua is at a crossroads, though both could greatly reinvigorate their stock with hypothetical rematch victories.

Painterly Joe was always going to be a nightmare if he could get the fights. He still hasn't really gotten the fights — Dubois was still green, had done nothing to be considered a big scalp, and the odds offered on a Joyce stoppage were happily incommensurate — but people have been compelled to see past the lack of blistering speed over the course of the last year all the same.

Joe gives Fury his toughest bout, I believe.

I have always said that this is a tough fight. In fact JJ is a tough fight for anyone in today’s heavyweight division. @Wizbit1013 recognizes this as well.

So Joyce climbs to top 3 for beating Dubois and Takam? Are you serious? What has he done that's really that impressive so far?

He was arguably being outboxed vs Takam before KOing him.

Remember Takam was beaten by Chisora... let that sink it.

I think I agree you, of course it's not a sure thing but I believe Joyce can take a shot from Joshua, and Joshua doesn't seem to be able to take anything at this point. Don't look for Joshua to make this fight though.

No way. Joyce is far too easy to hit and slow as week in jail.

AJ has looked mediocre for quite a while, so many people have been aware of this for a long time. This isn't a new phenomenon.

He's not glass jawed so he'd handle it better for sure.

Oscar Rivas is ranked no. 9 by the Ring for beating Jennings alone. Joyce has beaten Jennings, Dubois, Takam and even a shot Stiverne if you want to chuck in names. He could be right outside the top 5 for that kind of resume. I'd almost put it over Parker who has barely scraped by with every single one of his best wins.

I doubt he would do so that willingly, Joshua went from being hurt by big punchers to being hurt by mediocre punchers. He seems not to punch as hard anymore too. He also tends to gas under pressure as he's not so good at relieving it anymore. Joyce is still slow as hell and really hittable so it's up in the air but the chance is definitely there for Joe.

I really like Joyce and believe that his durability, stamina and mental fortitude would see him win a very tough fight against AJ. That being said I'd rank him far lower than 3.

How would Joyce handle that? Fighting back would be a start. Watching that reminds me that Joshua is literally a shell of the man who beat Wlad.

Joshua lost to a master boxer who was quicker than him, Joyce is neither of these things.

Joyce trades speed for chin and stamina. Seems worth it so far.
