Not sure which market sky are targeting here?

For those already with sky q what is the advantage with sky glass?

The TV seems expensive to me and would need to see the spec sheet and how they compare to TVs you could buy for the same price.

    43-inch model is £649 upfront.

Just a quick search on argos the equilivant price I see this samsung TV so would be interesting to see how the sky glass 43 inch TV compares.

    https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9336878?clickPR=plp:1:9

The cost of 4k tvs now start very low and I think this kind of product is 2-3 years too late and would be much more popular when the cost of 4k tvs were more prohibitive.

They haven't revealed or shown the quality of the streaming yet either and how it compares to what you get via a dish. If it doesn't offer parity at least then again why would one give up the dish for sky glass?

I pay £60/year for my local river boat service which covers everything. Can’t record or pause live TV but is HD.

They are wrapping it all up in a mobile phone style contract so I thinki its a really good idea. The specs looks pretty good so just like a good phone if you want a good tv with your sky you can pay it off interest free for a few years.

Seeing these Sky Glass TV's being thrown into skips at the local dump will become an all too common sight in the not too distant future I suspect. Seems like a 3D glasses/4K/8K fad that will burn fast initially before fizzling out. Too much competition, too much money and Sky don't have the best reputation these days because of their constant price hikes etc.

Way too expensive at least initially and just seems like Sky attempting to fight back against the growing threat of streaming services by creating their own 'unique' product that will try and limit their customers access to other services by presumably underhanded tactics that have yet to be revealed after all it is Sky and while I do personally subscribe to them they can be pretty ruthless in their dealings.

I'm not interested in streaming but even if I was the lack of a record function straight away is a no from me because I record quite a lot of stuff (live sport is only programming I watch live) and while yes there are catch up services there are also dozens and dozens of smaller channels on regular Sky TV who don't have catch up so what about them ?? No thanks

Why would anyone who has SKY Q be interested In this? Are sky aiming for people who subscribe to now TV and trying to encourage them to become sky subscribers.

Sky need to release a 4k mini box for people with multi room Sky Q boxes.

How are sky gonna convince people to buy this who have already spent good money on 4K TVs.

Having reviewed the early pros and cons, I have decided against buying this TV.

Most of Sky's red button football streams for the International matches and Championship league matches are over 1 minute behind with many nearly 100 secs. Sky could not rule out a similar delay in streaming with the TV when I queried so I am out.

Just had a little check on the DAZN coverage. Behind the bell on matchroom YouTube is 17 seconds ahead of Behind the Bell on the DAZN app. So in real time, it’s probably about a minute behind. A main reason for me why streaming is shite.

Good decision, even if you're still somewhat considering it just bide your time until the product is properly rolled out and real feedback/reviews from consumers starts coming in.

This is why streaming isn't going to be the future for live sports any time soon.

People aren't going to be packing out pubs to watch the big events if half the pub are going to be getting texts and notifications for goals on their phones 30 seconds before it's shown on the big screens.

I actually think the technology with streaming lag will get there however it’s a fair way off.

No DAZN portal on Sky Glass when it launches in the next fortnight. Interesting.

Don't know why sky don't offer an iptv box.

They do in Germany and Italy so why the need for a TV I don't know.

Maybe they think an iptv box would cannibalise now tv.
