I thought you were talking about Wilder being knocked down. Fury did seem to be on the canvas for a while.
A lot of reputable observers saying on twitter that the ref could have counted three more counts between 5 and 6 on the second KD…
Wilder showed massive heart tonight But outside the ring he's a joke I have no respect for . We all know there'll be some stupid excuses coming He can never accept he is beaten by the better man. He also blamed getting KTFO in Russia to Evgeny Romanov in the amateurs on having a cold
Honestly when a fighter shows the heart that Wilder did in there tonight you can overlook any of the noise outside the ring. Was disappointing he rejected Fury’s attempt at showing respect after the fight but clearly Fury is the bigger man in that respect.
Great fight - the best man won, though Fury didn’t look as good as in the second fight, clearly didn’t have the best prep but knew he could do the job. Wilder is the men’s boxing Shannon Courtenay. Lost 3 times to Fury and still can’t show respect and accept the better man won. Should’ve been stopped sooner. Wilder was a state and took a lot of unnecessary punishment.
I’m talking about the second Fury KD. Why did the ref talk to Wilder during the count. Whole thing was farcical.
I thought Fury either showed no respect towards Wilder’s 1-2 or he was just really sloppy in there because he didn’t even attempt to parry or step back from Wilder’s 1-2 at times in there. Was a sloppy performance, we know Fury can do way better than that. Thought Malik Scott’s gameplan was solid, was really impressed by the power Wilder was throwing into those jabs and straights to the body early on.
Yep. That's how fighters get brain damage. He should get checked out at the hospital asap. The Gypsy King gave him one severe sustained beating.
You have to give Wilder his dues. Showed the heart of a lion in there. I disagree with a lot of people saying he made a mistake putting on the extra weight. I think the game plan was spot on. Bulk up to withstand Fury's old school rough house tactics. Then just go all out at him on the front foot until he gasses. we already knew he had no chance of out boxing Fury so he may as well try and force the fight and try and land early. Wilder is a one punch KO artist, nothing more. One of the best ever with that combo but even so.
By the time Wilder caught Fury it looked like he was done, you have to be weary at all times against him. And agreed, the way he was coming in with those jabs to the body early was something I weren’t expecting. Ultimately though, his tank was poor.
What a great 9 or so hours. Shannon Courtenay beat, Anthony Fowler flattened and we’ve just got to watch a brilliant iconic heavyweight fight.
Jab to the body and the 1-2 at the end of the day Malik Scott taught him absolutely nothing. I was impressed by how he got out of danger by clinching.
I think Scott did all he could really. Wilder is at a late age and with a skill set that is very limited. He at least sent Wilder out there with an effective gameplan and bulking him up was the right strategy. He won’t ever have the beating of Fury now but he came damn close with that long count.
Highly unlikely. Fury would not lose a jab war to him like AJ and Fury would make it rough, and make size count.
Fury has never been a set fighter. From fight to fight you never know what version of him or what condition you were going to get. Probably why he was pulled out of a lot of fights at the last minute.
