Yeah loading up on all those body shots and right hands took something out of him and as soon as his surrogate gypsy father started putting hands on him he started get flashbacks of his last humbling and that drained his gas tanks too.
He was clearly gassed when he entered the ring. His face looked puffy before a punch was ever thrown.
I knew Wilder had crazy heart when he would keep punching full force with badly damaged arms and hands. Normal humans and average heart fighters will tend to start pulling their shots and making sure they don't aggravate their injury.... they find ways to nurse their injury during the fight. Wilder still would punch with violent authority, injury and pain be damned. That's when I knew he was a sociopath lol. Then the 2nd Fury fight confirmed it.
He showed the same heart in their second fight. Nothing new. We'll see if he pulls excuses from the twighlight zone again.
The lighter weight only benefited him in the first because Fury's tactics were different. His weight tonight gave him his best shot. Fury just has his number there's nothing else to it.
It's an observation. I don't think we'll be hearing from Wilder for a long time. Because he doesn't want to make excuses but knows something wasn't right when he walked into the ring, similar to the 2nd fight, only this time he was more mentally prepared and had a gameplan. We saw how good of a jabber Wilder was in that first round. It was a great strategy but when you enter the ring exhausted like that, you don't give yourself a realistic chance to win.
Extremely exciting and nail biting but very very sloppy. But I am feeling very, very, very feel right now
I disagree with the extra weight being a hindrance. He was better in the clinches this time, not being ragdolled like the last fight.
Loading up 38 pounds of additional muscle on a 200 pound max frame is never a good idea. Plus the idiot put it all on his torso and arms, instead of his legs where he should have built himself up. You can see the results, his legs just collapsed underneath him in the later rounds when Fury clinched with him and his heavier arms meant his power swings were more telegraphed and easier to dodge.
