    Outfought and outthought,
Till he hits the ground wrecked,
    Yet still he's incapable,
    Of Showing Respect, :nono:

    Surrounded by sycophants,
    A prize primadonna,
It's past time to grow up,
    For the fallen Bronze Bomber,

Outthinking Wilder isn't exactly difficult. Even a goldfish could probably do it. :sisi1

It's a genuine shame he couldn't just let it all go once the fight was over. Most boxers can put all the pre-fight nonsense in perspective once they've shared a ring with a guy. We know it's mostly to sell tickets in any case. Wilder's sulky toddler act was not befitting of the occasion or the efforts and heart he himself showed in the ring.

Someone post fight needed to have a quiet word with him and advise him to shake hands, put an end to the drama and so draw a line from which to capitalise on all the admirable qualities his performance had highlighted. There's a lot to like there regardless of the flaws. Sadly I don't think he allows anyone of any real character to stay in his circle.

There is nothing that says they have to like each other. It is what it is.

Wilder said he did his best but he just came up short. I think the respect they have for eachother after this fight is real.

I doubt he said that, Fury likes talking.

I haven't seen anyone make that argument?

That’s what this thread is about. Not everyone is like AJ in that sense.

You shake your opponent's hand after a fight because that's what you do as a man. You might dislike each other but you can still show respect. Wilder and his fanbase are rotten to the core.

Like is not synonymous with respect. Everyone else in the thread are discussing the latter, not the former?

The vast majority of boxers do the courtesy of shaking hands or embracing briefly or at least a nod or word of respect after a fight, nevermind a brutal trilogy.
Even when they dislike each other on some level, even when they disagree with a decision, they take a few seconds to acknowledge the effort of the opponent, and acknowledge some sort of understanding, from one warrior to another.

    Almost every single boxer, ever.
    Feels that way.
Wilder is exceptional in his bad sportsmanship.

There is a thing called respect and sportsmanship though, and Wilder has none of either.

Let see what Wilder says today after he had some time to sleep on it and reflect.
I hope for him he can come to terms with it.

At least he doesn't act like a humble guy like bodybuilder.

    Respect him as a warrior
For all his flaws, we can't say he is not a tough SOB

However, he is a classless idiot. He should have shown some respect, you don't have to swap spit in the shower, but a simple well done would suffice
