People say he does not hit hard, but all of his opponents look terrible after they fight him. He is not a classic one punch knockout boxer, but he definitely isn't a soft puncher and his jab is very good. Look at how it was throwing Wilder off at the start in the second round, even when Wilder was fresh and confident. He can also throw solid shots up close without much extension. Saying that, if he had a Joshua right hand, Wilder would've been gone a lot sooner last night.
Because nine times out of ten a guy who hits hard enough to hurt you but not hard enough to knock you out is going to do you more damage than a guy who can knock you spark out. Take for example Muhammad Ali beating Ernie Terrell's face into hamburger
That right hook that came crashing down on Wilders head carried a lot of power. When he winds up like that Fury can hit very hard
Fury is a big strong man 270+ don't let his physique fool you. when he lands flush he punches hard. Even when he doesn't you can feel the weight of his punches.
Its clubbing power, not like wilder where he punches through peoples chins.. Ahem, I mean punches through bin mens chins. Fury clubs people with his weight behind him. He has plenty of power but its delivered in a different manner to a ko artist like wilder.
Fury's a man for the big occasion He's 5-0-1 (4 KOs) on US soil Iced Cunningham on his pro US debut Brutally KO'd The Tuscaloser in 11 on Saturday, after dropping him multiple times and beating the soul out of his body and stopping him in the second fight in the trilogy He would've likely done the same to him in the first fight too had he not been a muscle atrophied absolute shell of himself Ottomatic took him the distance He dropped Tommy Schwarzenhoffer and shattered his nose in a couple of rounds A delicious mix of slickness, power and gushing of claret this one This content is protected And he scored a brutal HL reel out cold KO over in the US during an amateur duel vs the USA too Very similar to the Cunningham KO this one This content is protected So including that he's 6-0-1 (5KOs) and the draw should be a win and three of those KO's were of the HL reel out cold or completely out of it variety
He's become a heavy handed, clubbing puncher, where before he was more of a fast punching flurrier. He's always had power though. That was evident since way back if you've followed his early career on the UK domestic scene. Once he moved up the ranks he started to fight more on the backfoot and whip in quick, snapping shots with not a lot of weight on them then dance off before his opponent could land their own. Following his getting with Sugar Hill he's become more of a front foot fighter, putting more of his weight into shots. Obviously that has an effect when you're as big as he is. As for where he ranks in the division, hard to say. You wouldn't want to take shots off him, but then he's unlikely to flatline you with one shot like a Wilder or Whyte. He's a bit like a slightly whipper Joe Joyce or a slightly less heavy handed Helenius.
