If he bulks back up and becomes the old AJ pre Ruiz. Wilder has incredibly limited boxing guile, yet landed on Fury repeatedly with the same overhand right. AJ has nowhere the ability of Fury but he can bang big and more importantly he can finish his man off with boxing skills. Wilder and unless he wipes his man out with one punch cannot box and kill off his wounded man. Fury can be got at, as proven repeatedly by Wilder. Better fighters can wipe him out. AJ definitely, Usyk without question, even Whyte stands a good chance.
AJ "pre Ruiz" didn't do much against Parker or even against Takam. Took 11 rounds to finish 41 year old Wlad, and was being given some trouble by 39 year old Povetkin too, before Povetkin slowed down and stood in front of him. How many good fighters has AJ actually stopped?
Maybe AJ can beat Fury. Maybe Fury has past his peak, but maybe AJ is going backwards too. It's an interesting fight but Fury seems to have more tools ultimately, and possibly more heart and self-belief.
Yeah just like Klitschko was gonna knock out Fury, just like Wilder was going to 3 times, just come off it by now
How many good fighters has Fury stopped? "Povetkin slowed down" Wilder looked 10 more gassed out than Povetkin did, in both the 2nd and the 3rd fights. It took Fury 6 rounds to finish Wilder who was out on his feet from round 6 onwards "was being given some trouble by 39 year old Povetkin too" Fury got heavily dropped and lost most of the rounds to Steve Cunningham, who was 38 years old when they fought. Get the hell out of here
If Fury fought AJ like he did Wilder last night it's possible. But he wouldn't fight AJ like Wilder as they are very different fighters. I doubt he tries to clinch and manhandle Joshua who naturally much heavier than Wilder and who actually has some in fighting ability. So I don't think you can use last nights performance as a reason why AJ beats him.
Wlad at 41 was still better than most in the boxrec top 10 right now. Parker bang in his prime. Povetkin over the top but still a very dangerous skilled and hugely experienced opponent.
