Here's the key .. Leonard did not take Hearn's shots at 147, Tommy never landed flush .. Ray was too fast and elusive .. Hearn's was most effective w his jab bu could not land the right flush ..
In regards Hagler. Old Lion Bennie Briscoe did came to war with Marvin Hagler. He cut Marvin and Hagler boxed his way to victory. It was the intelligent move. Briscoe saw no canvas and I don't think was all the worse for wear at the end. Granted BB is one of the toughest human beings that ever lived.
I love this post. The problem with the concept is my top 4 picks all exist in the same division Duran, Armstrong, Chavez and Arguello.
Foreman, Basilio, Fullmer, Saad Muhammad, Holmes, Hagler, and Duran come to mind. Ali, Holyfield, Paret, Gil Turner, and Joe Frazier would be next in line, though a little more out-brawlable than the others.
Benn won in a brawl v G-man but tasted the canvas, Bowe out-brawled Holy in their first fight and sort of in their third clash.
