Com'n man. You're wise enough to know why so many people enjoyed this fight even if you found it to be sloppy which it was at times. I also think Fury did quality work on the inside that maybe your not giving him credit for. The ending salvo and the drop in the round prior was pure inside fightingness!:nusenuse::smile:

I enjoyed it, man. Hell, enough to change my beloved avatar of Kazuto Ioka that I've been hanging onto since NYE (haven't decided whether to keep this one long-term or not, though).

I enjoyed it more than either of the first two, and that's with me not liking either fighter and being very tired of their rivalry and this having been a match-up that didn't interest me in the least when it was announced. So yeah, they got my begrudging respect for the heart they both showed and their ability to file into a trench and brawl surpassing the amount of "dog" I thought either had in them.

HAVING SAID THAT, some of the hyperbole about the fight in the last 15 hours has been off the chain. Everything from "automatic FOTY" to "among the best HW fights ever" or "best fights period of the last three decades". Everybody needs to calm the hell down! Everybody needs to remember that some things are complicated and nuanced. Such as "Wilder is a courageous warrior, but also kind of an unsportsmanlike punk". Or, "this was a lot of fun, but it also was a hot mess and both guys made a lot of errors in both tactics and execution".

Best thing is Fury went to Hakkasan club after 2 knockdowns and 11 hard-core rounds. Legend party animal

I hate clubs and crowds and everything aside from being an introverted bookworm homebody, so the idea of being Fury in this clip gives me anxiety even without the "just been in a concussive war" factor, but... hey, good for him, seems to be having a blast. :sisi1

Fury did a bit of everything in there, by turns. Boxed, boxer punched, got off the deck and came back, infought and mauled, took punches to give punches because he could (after Wilder had shot his best). It was a terrific show for boxing fans and a veritable fistic smörgåsbord.

Put aside the overridingly tense atmosphere and the excitement caused by the scare in the 4th (which can happen when you're putting on a terrific show for boxing fans), and a keen analyst will note that he was also pretty dominant in the bigger picture.

Plenty still rate him over Joshua right now, even though he himself never seems to have (hence the ducking)...

Assuming he wouldn't have changed his mind after a brutal couple of beatings and having declined physically, why would he take that fight now and remove all doubt?

Foreman said it was like something out of his own era and Id totally agree.. When two men throw down the gauntlet and refuse to be denied it makes for something very special

    And lol@ fistic smörgåsbord. Classic:qmeparto:

Well, Hearn and his pet may take a chance on Wilder now.

I haven't felt tempted to gloat over @drenlou's misfire, because he seems like an alright guy at heart. He's got a lot of useless bookmarks to delete today, though. :eusa_whistle:
