What did you think of Fury's conditioning/stamina?

Yeah spot on for me. 2 year long ringrust combined with having covid recently, and having to pause his camp for personal reasons. Looked less fit than last time, where he was much tighter around the waist in comparison last time. His arms and shoulders looked more toned in the last fight too. Have to remember for the 2nd fight he came into it on the back of a lot of ring activity, so was in the best condition he's ever been

I think he realised early on the combination of these things meant that he couldn't do exactly what he did last time around, and needed to make it more of a brawl. He still had enough to take Wilder out, as he has that natural fighting man-life time boxer energy/stamina. People who have been fighting all their lives will always have that zip in their punches through to the 12th round

Once he's got a couple more fights under his belt it will be time to face Usyk, and I hope both of them are in top condition for when they fight

He had a great stamina still but he looked flabbier than last time out. He looked like he had lost a few pounds of muscle and gained some flab.
He seemed very very strong though.

He looked worse than he did in the second fight due to more fat around the midriff, but his engine was just as impressive as it always has been. He could easily fight 15 rounds without being completely gassed, still have his skills and carry power.

To be honest I don't think he trained a lick for the fight. I think he spent more time down at the bakery and listening to popular music than he did at the gym.

You think wrong. Fury can run. Back at home he runs up Windermere mountains and during camp he runs every day. The man is extremely fit inside and outside of the ring.

Since his comeback, Fury has learnt to stay active in between bouts, instead of putting his feet up and going on eating binges as many boxers tend to do. “I run every day, I do cardio every single day of my life,” he told Muscle & Fitness. “While I’m not in the training camp I do cardio in the morning and weights in the afternoon. With weight training, I’ll break it up over five days, doing a different body part every day.”

Fury's always been a hard roadworker. He threw in the region of 800 punches at Kevin Johnson over twelve rounds, well in excess of the heavyweight average (and around double the number he threw over ten and a half rounds this past weekend), and that was primarily from the outside, where his clinching and leaning was a non-factor.

Your showing your lack of knowledge on training here. I'm sure he can run for many miles but that's not the same as being able to sustain a higher out put. He could probably do 15-20 rounds because he's able to remain relaxed and control the pace of the fight to suit him. But if you got him to up his work rate throw and set a pace he isn't so comfortable with then he'd gas sooner. But we'll probably never see it because he's too good at controlling the pace of a fight.

Treadmills are for softies. The idea that Fury would crap out on one of those things is a strange one; anybody who works the roads day in and day out or runs up inclines in the peak district can tell you that Tyson will pound away on a treadmill all day after years of building up his cardio base in those conditions. IYKYK.

But the fight would of been fought at his pace which would never be pressed Vs a fighter like Johnson.

Endurance which Fury has plenty off isn't the same as conditioning. Well conditioned athletes are better at pushing beyond their comfort zone and sustaining effort. I doubt Fury is capable of that because he never us forced beyond his comfort zone because of his ability to control the pace is fought at.

Didn't you say he'd crap out from running on a treadmill?

Talk about displaying a lack of knowledge. If you'd sparred, or even worked pads, you'd know exactly what frequent running does for someone's output and their capacity for upping it when pushed.

We'll find out if he meets Joyce, a big heavy with a crazy high output, at some stage. That's a fight I'd like to see.

Never said treadmill said intervals if you don't know what interval training is then it's basically higher intensity output for a set period.

People shouldn't mistake the ability to work at a higher intensity or capacity as the same as more steady lower intensity but longer. Tyson is great at one but not so great at the other.

This is a bit of nonsense. Fury is only human. . He was put down twice and was wise enough to know he could be put out cold. That threat can put a lot of pressure on your mental and physical stamina. To handle it was well as Fury did was extremely impressive.
