Ok, but doubt many will be eager to face him now. Damaged goods that still probably can KO most guys if he lands. And even if he works his way back to WBC mandatory, is there really any point while Fury still holds it?
Glad to hear that Wilder is not retiring but as already mentioned he will still be seen as far too dangerous for most of the division. I would still love to see a Wilder v Joshua fight.
Yes, that's one we'd all like to see. They have both been world titleholders of this era, so their careers would not really be complete unless they fight each other. Ruiz-Wilder is another one I'd like to see.
Good news. I actually want to see how he does against the likes of Hunter, Parker, Ruiz, Hrgovic, Sanchez, Hughie, Bakole and Gassiev. Knowing Wilder though the best we can hope for will be Helenius or Charles Martin (both would be one of his best wins) but will most likely fight Kownacki or Ajagba.
The Helenius fight makes a ton of sense, no way he takes it though. He will come back in 4-6 months and fight a complete nobody there to get KO'd, then will start screaming for Usyk or Joshua, and act like Fury doesn't exist.
Wilder-Joshua in a glamor crossroads fight late next year, please, since AJ isn't winning that Usyk rematch. In fairness, what else can he do? If he talks about a fourth fight, he'll be rightfully pilloried. He has no choice but to go other roads now.
Yeah Helenius is too dangerous (well not for top fighters but for him anyway) think it will be Kownacki. Then Haymon will cash in on him and scarifice him against Sanchez or Ruiz.
Never thought he would with there still being lucrative fights for him. Andy Ruiz fight makes sense if he still refuses to work with Hearn and DAZN, that can be a reasonably marketable fight between 2 former champions. Wilder won't retire any time soon I suspect, he loves the attention boxing brings him, probably more than the money. So until he has no options he'll probably keep fighting.
Wilder v Helenius would be a good first fight back after the Fury trilogy. There is no point matching him against journeymen as its pointless and he needs to test himself against a live opponent as well as helping him try to get back into contention.
