Amazing to have you hear. If you want more questions, I have a few. Which heavyweight from any era, would be the hardest fight for you? Have you ever checked out any of the early guys on film? If not, I'd love to see your opinion of McFarland Vs Welsh This content is protected The earliest boxer on film is an exhibition with an aging bareknuckle fighter who fought in the 1870s This content is protected Speaking of which, how much of an advantage do you consider the availability of film, for training and preparing for fights?
terrific attitude. having time for others is always a great sign that someone is in a good place in their life, especially with your profile. power to you, tim.
Listen up all you maniacs, here's the format going forward: Tim is going to do a video response to my first set of questions after he gets home (to Philly, after watching last night's heavyweight title fight ringside in Las Vegas). I've already started compiling my follow-up set of another ten questions, for Round 2, with the common theme being a particular city with a rich - and gritty - boxing history. Privileges of rank, lads (slash firt come first served). Don't be salty, now - because... Starting with Round 3 onward, I'm going to curate, at Tim's request, a list of the best questions from the rest of the forum members. Please address your questions to me, preferably via quote post or PM to ensure my seeing them, and I'll submit the worthiest of them after Spoon does his video response to my Round 2 questions. I'll keep you guys posted as things get figured out, as far as how often he's going to be able to do these, and how many questions per sessions he feels like fielindg (which is going to in turn determine my threshold of discrimination as far as what makes the cut or not...the goal is to avoid him getting inundated with asinine questions or repeating things he may have publicly answered plenty of times before over the years)
Good to hear champ, just wish we had more like you on here... Quick question for you, was Franks jab as hard as they say it was?
I'm sure the Brits will have all manner of Bruno questions to hurl at TW, as I know he's something of a national treasure among fans over there. If nobody comes up with a significantly more interesting one, I'll pencil in yours about his jab for Round 3.
The video I answered 5 questions and will answer the other ones in another. I was crunched for time unfortunately lots going on after being away. Ecudo is going to edit it and then we will post it here!
These are the kinds of questions I was curious about as well. There are a LOT of boxing fans in the Classic forum that are extremely curious about how the top professionals view the older fighters on a head to head basis. Of all the heavyweights of the recent past, Tim Witherspoon is better equipped to answer these kinds of technical questions than basically anybody else.
Your name is immortal. Most boxing greats names are and their accomplishments will be spoken about on forums like this forever. Is it a strange feeling to know that or do you think that it's just hard work paying off?
I will have IB put these in their own category. We are actually going to be doing a lot on these old fighters and techniques on my Youtube channel;
