His biggest weakness currently is his fear of engaging. Other big ones is he cant recover quickly from a big punches, or avoid them like Fury can. Also when hurt, he stiffens right up amd is very vulnerable. Fury beat Wilder using 3 different styles for each of the fights. No other heavyweight could do that.
His heart is no existent imo since getting banjoed by an obese Mexican, in the rematch he ran and was scared to engage but it was hailed as master boxing. Then on to Pensioner Pulev who just wanted the payday and brought zero ambition it was the same again a 'masterclass' of boxing....when in reality Pulev was zero test for AJ. He was gassed up by all his massive entourage 'AKA Skins' ect and McCracken and he believed he was a master boxer when in reality he can box but is pretty poor in ring IQ and footwork he abandoned everything he is a 6'5 wrecking machine. To come back in any sort of capacity he needs to address all the hangers on and get rid go back to basics with a small team and some fresh ideas to get his mentality back to using his physicality to smash people to bits, the problem he now has is every HW will know how to deal with him, he needs to get that intimidation factor back and try to beat his opponent before they get in the ring, it probably would work with anyone apart from Fury and Usyk and when those fights happen for me he has to stick it straight on both and try to bang them out knowing he will either gas and get chinned himself or lose a wide UD.
His biggest weakness is Eddie Hearn and all the other hangers on, making money from the lad and blowing smoke up his arris. When you've been told you're the biggest and best in the world by snakes, at some point you start to believe it, despite the reality. The trouble is for him, anyone not taken in by the spin knows he's just a decent boxer and nothing more. His legacy is his bank balance.
In my opinion it’s insecurity, they rushed AJs stardom and at one point matchroom had majority of the British public including AJ himself believing AJ was unbeatable, he feels the pressure. You can tell this when he looks out of the ring when fighting, or talks in inspirational gibberish. AJ has the ability to beat any of the heavyweights he just needs some mindset training disclaimer: I know sweet FA about mindset coaching or human psychology
I said it on here a few years back that he was being rushed to the world title, and he was and sooner or later he would have to face some good fighters, not like those before he won his title. The WK fight proved to me he was not ready, although he won, it was the fight that effectively ended him as a "Fighter" i firmly believe that.
You've summed it up perfectly. Hell of a legacy out of the ring, but inside it - pure smoke and mirrors.
His main weakness at this point is that he is incredibly wealthy so never needs to box again. And doesnt enjoy fighting anymore and only does it to earn money for his team of hangers on. That means he doesnt have the dog in him, that fighting man heart you need to be a great. Wilder beats him on heart alone. That is the sorry fact of the matter at this stage of his career. Fury although he has amazing wealth still enjoys fighting and has that warrior gene just like Wilder.
He will go down in history as a fighter that couldn't fight... But made loads of money in the process, which will run out and starts scratching around in a couple of years!!
Wilder has hid in America and only called out Fury because he thought he was a fat bum, and then had no where to run when he got schooled. Warrior gene for what reason exactly, because he stood there and got battered for 11 rounds? AJ stood there and got battered by Usyk for 12 rounds.
