If you don't see 'ego' pouring out of his stance on the Spence fight, then I don't know what to say. Being ok if you don't fight your chief rival and number one at the weight is an ego problem. For the time he's been in the public eye his career has been pretty underwhelming, I can understand the PBC politics against him but last year when the supposed fight with Spence never came to fruition due to money split issues and conflict on who'd be the A-side , that's when the general opinion on him flipped big time and people stopped giving him a pass. I can think of many occasions when I decided to rewatch a Crawford fight and then got put off after remembering that he hasn't been in any intriguing fight other than Postol or Gamboa and even they weren't the something out of the ordinary.

It doesn't matter how he'd beat Porter, there'd still be complaints lol. I do agree though, that he doesn't have the best WW names atm, but a dominant win over Porter is something no one else has that he's capable of producing.

I don't think many people hate him. We all just want to see him fight better fighters. When your career defining fight is Gamboa and Postol, you have a problem.
It means over hyping fights where one guy stands no real chance of losing it. He's milking fans out of their money.
