Fury an ATG, there will always be another man coming along who he "has to beat" This twenty stone Gypsy TANK version of Fury walks through the division with ease. Big Joe Joyce the only possible exception.
We can already call him that. Usyk / AJ would be great wins but there’s no doubting Fury is already one of the greats - beating a dominant Klitschko, away, and beating an unbeaten Wilder, again away. Usyk / AJ wins solidify his position of the best of the last 20 15 years but without a doubt he is already an all time great.
What's happening with Joshua and sky sports? I thought he was going to stay with Sky but Smith and a few others at Sky recently have openly been saying Fury is the best heavyweight in the world. It would be a turnaround if Joshua gets beat again and Eddie has him exclusively on DAZN and Sky were to tie up with Fury/top rank
SKY have desperately wanted to broadcast a Fury fight again, ever since Fury beat Wilder in the 2nd fight. He's the best, and he's British, and he's fighting on BT in the UK, which undermines SKY. Joshua is a valuable commodity but no one can say he's #1 currently, and even while they could still make that claim, they wanted AJ and Fury. I think Whyte has a contract with SKY, and is being lined up as Fury's next opponent, so SKY might try to get in that way.
If AJ was still with Sky sports we all know that Adam Smith wouldnt be talking in such glowing terms about a rival. He would still be chomping away on the AJ manmeat like the worst fan boy around. But it is nice for the first time ever to see Tyson Fury getting a little bit of credit. However the Guardian or the BBC is probably working on another attack against his character as we speak...
They're no longer yoked to Matchroom and they're seeking credibility with boxing fans by pushing a more independent editorial line. Commentary and pundit scorecards have already reflected this. AJ will fight Usyk and Sky Sports will carry it. If he wins then they'll be pushing Fury v AJ with Joshua as the underdog, which would be accurate in any case.
Not often I agreed with Smith again I don't here (didn't realise you take his word as gospel). I just don't see why the most notable win in 5 years is beating a guy whose best career win wouldn't get AJs top 5 or Whytes top 3 (Ortiz) and his next best wins aren't even high Euro level guys (Duhaupas and Spzilka). Had anyone with similar resume to Wilder been beaten and Victor had only beaten top people outside the top 40 this would have been laughed at.
AJ does not beat that Wilder from the other night, nor does Whyte. Fury just finds a way to win, which is why I don't see any other fighter in the division beating him and Fury for me is absolutely a once in a generation fighter.
Disagree , there's over a dozen in the divison that beat the very limited, flawed Wilder that had resume of cherry picked soft opponents and has history of avoiding big punchers.
Fair enough you are entitled to your opinion, but you are really underestimating Wilder in my opinion. He has the biggest knockout power of any heavyweight in history and refuses to go down, he's a massive massive problem for anyone.
People love to discredit Fury by saying now 'Oh yeah but Wilders ****'. Despite the fact the thoughts on this forum and the boxing world as the fight drew closer was that 'it was a 50/50'.
I would back the following: Usyk, AJ, Whyte, Fury, Hunter, Parker, Ruiz,Joyce, Pulev, Hrgovic, Sanchez, Gassiev, Bakole, Hughie, Dubois, Chisora and Makhmudov. A lot of which have better resumes and rest are a bad match for Wilder styliscally.
