Both are among the Top 5 ATG Punchers. The thing is that Shavers would face huge physical disadvantages in this matchup. On that basis, I have to favour Wilder. Shavers has a live puncher's chance though

Shavers while considered a bit limited had more in the toolbox than Wilder who is the epitome of a limited fighter.
This one's hard to call Wilder has the physical advantages in height and reach, not that he particularly utilises them efficiently especially with the jab.
Shavers on the other hand although he can be occasionally wild has much better punching technique, he's floored better fighters than Wilder.
Early on I'd favour Wilder, if it goes beyond halfway Shavers.

But the real question is, could Wilder beat the Earniest Shavers of all?

both of these hitters is way overrated earn has this dumb outdated quote of oh mutiple people said he hit the hardest so it just trumps over any other hw which is odd it's been mutiple harder hitters sense then and none of the people who said he hit hard fought any of the other boxers

then deon has the highest ko percentage but none of the people he dropped was known to be tough for taking damage mike years ago fought mutiple people who never had been ko before he fought them and was known to be tough

earn wins this easy deon is not tough for taking big single shots and deon defense is trash

Shavers always had stamina issues...never carried his power into the later rounds...and I don't think he ever had a KO past round 7. He hurt Ali and Larry Holmes...but he could never follow up...he never had the knack of coming up with the BIG punch when he needed to!

Well I have mentioned he had them.
If he consistently used a jab I’d probably favour him strongly.

Barring a lucky early punch from shavers I would favor wilder heavily. His height, reach and aggressive style would enable him to land faster and Earnie doesn’t have the chin to take it

How many Holmes and Ali's has Wilder faced? Sure Shavers had stamina issues, but so does Wilder. It's much harder to ko a skilled foe than it is to ko an unskilled one.
    Shavers fought much better competition.
