Just so we are clear here on chins in general.

    Heart and determination ≠ Chin.

Wilder literally punched right through the target with that right hand missile.. Fury's head absorbed everything

The mans chin is made of titanium.

Only thing I would say about that punch is Wilder didn't get full extension on it when it landed but still.... helluva punch to take and pretty much shake off.

All Brits possess chins like that. British fighters are often shot by the time they reach the world level because of all the punishment they absorb during Brit Level domestic dust ups and local derbies and sparring wars in the gym. Brits are a warrior people by nature and we also like to give the crowd their money's worth. It's rare for a British fighter to stink out the joint. We're basically a nation of harder punching Ted Cheeseman's.

He took bigger shots than that one in the fight, stop licking his balls so much.
That wasn't even testing his chin for ****s sake, it landed on his ****ing forehead and scrambled his senses just like the Ruiz shot on the ear scrambles AJs.

And the waves on his body are because he's got more fat than your average heavyweight.

How good is Fury's chin?? Getting brutally dropped by a guy with 5KOs in 17 fights.

I love Fury but please don't make him be something he's not, he's got an okay chin but he rarely gets hit clean and has tremendous powers of recovery, his powers of recovery should be commended more than his chin.

Don't tell me you're one of these people who thinks "chin" in boxing parlance means literally just chin?

Things are worse than I thought.

Imagine digging up Nevin Pajkic in 2021 as a reference for a thirty-something Fury's resistance to punches.

Most of those Fury knockdowns prior to 2014 were attributable to his being squared up while trading. He was a developing fighter, for heavens' sake.

Well, you realise that a boxer can be hit 100 times on the point of the chin and not go down but then a punch like that will absolutely scramble his senses and drop him.

A fighter has a good chin if he doesn't go down from punches below the eye line.

His chin has got better has he's aged, and became a better fighter. Everything improved!

That's beside the point. "Chin", as we speak of it in the sport of boxing, is a catch-all term to denote a man's resistance to headshots. Those may land on the chin or otherwise.

Shots on the ear, on the forehead and behind the head are all a lottery, everyman will roughly have the same punch resistance in the mentioned spots

Wilder has knocked down quite a few boxers with punches on the forehead because he carries incredible power. It's hard to knock someone out with that kind of punch as it will make you dizzy but shouldnt switch your lights out.

    Lol, 100%.

That reminds me of my all-time favourite thread on this forum: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/great-britain-the-isle-of-glass-jaw.382448/

Note, the OP in that puts Fury in the Glass Jaw category! It was 2012 though.

I'm a Brit but still read this every now and then, the banter on it was hilarious XD

How times change, seems like only yesterday most people were calling a fury a bum with a glass jaw.

I love seeing fighters prove ****wits wrong aye. :)

You are incorrect. Hear of a guy called Hagler, for one? Some noggins take those kinds of shots better than others, too.

"Chin" is still a catch-all term for the extent of a man's capacity to absorb shots to the head, whether they land on the jaw or elsewhere on the head/face (shots to the rear of the head are illegal, though, and don't really warrant mention in a discussion about punch resistance). Do what thou wilt with this information.
