All I keep reading is "Size. Fury is too big" Size might work against him due to his center of gravity. It's easy for Fury (6'9") to lean on Wilder who is only two inches shorter. However Usyk is 6'3" and does not stand straight up meaning his fighting stance is closer to 6'1". If Fury has to lean in on him with an seven or eight inch difference it will take him slightly off balance, moving his center of gravity forward, not directly under his own feet. Usyk is slick enough to make him pay while Fury is off balance and Usyk is talented enough to use basic redirection of that big mass while he's leaning over. Don't get me wrong, size matters, however Usyk isn't Wilder and after seeing what Fury did to Wilder with his weight I just can't imagine Team Usyk not having multiple plans for it plus a few pre fight conversations with the referee. Thoughts?
Usyk is not moving backwards like that, he is moving side to side and also you think that he is right in front of you but can't hit him. Fury cannot lean on Usyk and he knows it.
He couldn't do that to Wallin or Cunningham, both whom are significantly inferior to Usyk. Heck, even Wilder was out-jabbing Fury before he lost his discipline and started to become emotional. Fury's jab is no Klitschko jab, not even remotely on that ballpark.
Usyk is so agile its not even funny. The guy will be in and out of range so fast after throwing a combination Fury wouldnt know what hit him. I definitely think Usyk can beat Fury, especially the Fury from saturday night.
I found the bold and underlined text extremely amusing for some reason. Wilder? Emotional? Get outta here.
he can try both. box when available and bully from time to time. BUT it's not that easy when target is moving all the time side by side with his own rythm. AND let's not forget that he is always pressuring everybody, all the time, nonstop.
Fury should work on his pull-counter for Usyk. It would make people think twice about going to his body. He has good enough recovery for the risk.
If Usyk is “moving” how would you expect him to score? Fury is very comfortable fighting tall behind a jab, he isn’t afraid to stink the joint out and win on points, what does Usuk moving have to do with anything, he has to score…I’m curious how you would expect him to score consistently?
If Joshua can box with Usyk for large spells, so can Fury. Then Fury can also impose his wrestling game on top of it. He will do both.
