Tyson Fury against Wlad would have been a 0-0 contest if they kept going for 90 days and Peter Fury employed similar tactics for Hughie The Skirt Fury v Paint Dry Parker. Maybe Peter's instructions were misinterpreted by Tyson and Hughie when he said 'Put them to sleep' meaning the opponent and not the fans.
Fury needs Gareth as much as Gareth needs Fury. Davies pretty much controls the broadsheet fight press and that audience is crucial for many reasons that go beyond boxing. I'm sure Fury thinks he's a complete twat but the coverage he provides is essential. I believe Gareth also suffers mental health issues, look at the state of him.
I generally quite like Gareth but think his recent questioning, and consequently this interview, are a bit clumsy given Fury's issues.
Eddie Hearn is absolutely desperate to cash Whyte in against Fury, and clearly covets Fury. Hearn knows that the AJ gravy train might have run its course soon too.
Eddeh is in the mud. All his big names over the last few years have either retired, almost retired or one defeat away from being done. Joshua is on the brink of being finished, Warrington not won in over 2 years, Saunders probably about to retire, Bellew and Crolla retired, Khan and Brook may as well be retired. All he’s got left is a chance to cash Whyte in and try and keep Benn away from anyone half decent to keep that hype train going.
Can't rate Fury's greatness until he fights Dosh who has just been spanked by both Rice Pudding Jr and Usyk in the last two years.
I have been guilty of underrating Tyson Fury in the past in relation to the three Wilder fights (especially the second fight which I thought he would lose and get stopped in) but to me there is no doubt here. Fury would toy with Dillian and take him out round 5-6 with relative ease. To be honest that is as much to do with how poor Whyte is and how little I rate him as it does with Fury's greatness. Ability vs financial gain from the sport, Dillian Whyte has been one of the most fortunate fighters in the last 15-20 years, riding the AJ wave, and capitalizing on the mini boxing boom has made him countless millions when on talent/ability alone he's a decent, solid pro and gatekeeper type fighter all day long, a European title would be his natural peak and opponent dependent I would not necessarily back him to win that either. I think part of the narrative which Matchroom have continually pushed in interviews is that he 'gave AJ problems, he hurt AJ' which is really attempting to re-write history. He had a good 30 second spell in round 3 of the fight! He got absolutely battered by AJ, demolished. When he got knocked out he had no idea where he was or what was going on...
Yeah, absolutely agree. As far as British heavyweights go, Dillian Whyte is unprecedented in how much he's earned in PPV, reputation and ranking, compared to his actual talent and performances.
